As for arrival time. that depends on the airport. If you're going from a small airport in a mid-size city (like Albany, Huntsville, Tuscon, for example) 1.5 hours is plenty. You can even be stripped searched Twice if you want!

Last year, at the time of my departure from Vegas, the lines for the metal detectors, etc., snaked back and forth 6 times, then on down the hallway. Just getting through the line took well over an hour and a half. I had to miss the last couple of presentations, and noted, while about halfway through the line, that the conference was just then ending...

But then, there was some sort of orange alert then, so it might be better this year...maybe....

Whilst I like the Simpsons I'm am not familiar with the concept of a Homerotic hug, however at 9am in the morning after a night of sampling the finest wares of Las Vegas bars I am sure my hands will be shaking.

This is my first trip to vegas so I need someone to show me the ropes a little.

I will be arriving on the 11th (at 7:36 in the morning) and leaving on the 18th (at 4:30 in the afternoon).

I will be arriving about six hours before I can check in to my room. Gee, how can I spend those six hours? I expect I'll be bored out of my skull!

To my surprise, air fares are considerably lower (about $100 lower) than they were last year; but this might be due to the fact that I am doing my traveling on Tuesdays. Weekend and Monday fares are a bit higher, but still not as high as they were last year.
