Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says his country has proposed a deal to the US that would see the Strait of Hormuz reopened within a week.
Araghchi told reporters at the UN in New York that this could be done "if the necessary conditions are met" and said these were contained within the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed in June to extend a ceasefire that subsequently broke down.
Asked about the Iranian offer, a US official said positive discussions were taking place through mediators, including about nuclear issues, Reuters reported. Earlier this week Donald Trump threatened to "annihilate the Islamic Republic"...

But she laughed! Come on, you can't have a president who laughs, not in that silly female way, at least! Women should always smile, however.
There are loads of things not to like about her politics, no matter what your own politics are, but to pick Trump over her, especially after his first term, is indeed perverse.

Trump's first term ended in 2020. Guess what happened after that? That's right, inflation. Guess who got blamed for that? Biden and Harris. It wasn't their fault of course - Trump's bungling of the pandemic (along with bungling by other countries) caused it. But people have short memories and don't understand economics. Unfortunately Harris did very little to set them straight.
People also trust confident assertions far more than they should. Trump said he would bring prices down, stop the Ukraine war on day 1, deport only criminal illegal immigrants, and not start any new wars (saying that Harris would start a war with Iran). People believed him because he was so confident, despite all the lies he had told in the past. They basically made a list of each candidate's promises and chose the one that seemed best - without considering who has making them.
