Israel tears down 80 year old hotel to make way for Jews ONLY

You claimed that these lands were their traditional home and they wanted to be there. Pre-European invasion most Aboriginals lived in the south-east of Australia around the Murry River. Even today, those that live in the NT are the lowest number of all states and they live there in poverty.
You are confusing 'most' in terms of numbers, with those who are living on their traditional lands, which covered most of the country. The areas of Australia that were more arid still had tribes living in them, just lower densities of population. Pretty much the same thing today. Why they live in poverty is another issue.

its in mycrofts link...try reading that first then I'll talk to you about any confusion you may still be suffering.

(bolding mine)

East Jerusalem Palestinians have generally lived under permanent resident status, and only a few hundred each year typically have applied for Israeli citizenship. In recent years, however, there has been a steady increase.

Over the past five years, about 3,000 Palestinians applied for Israeli citizenship, and about 2,300 received it, according to the Israeli Interior Ministry.

Nowehere in that quote does it specify that all 3,000 applicants were Permanent Residents, which is what is being discussed.

Besides those from east Jerusalem with Permanent residency...what other Palestinians do you think Israel allows to apply for citizenship? Palestinians from Gaza? Palestinians from the west bank?

The simple truth is that Israel, no matter what promises you think you have will always reserve the right to review all applicants and reject those that it feels are too much of a risk, this is perfectly understandable. This claim that any mass of people has Israeli citizenship guaranteed if they wish to take it up is simply bogus. That only happens in the law or return...for jews....and even then its not guaranteed if you have a criminal record or other nasty stuff.

Yes.

For example, gay and lesbian Palestinians in the disputed territories can apply for Israeli citizenship to avoid persecution from the Palestinian Authority. There may be other classes of people eligible as well, but the point is you don't know and will not research who is denied and why.

I don't see what point you're trying to make. If I said "people are allowed to drive cars at the age of 16" would you consider it a significant rebuttal to point out there is still a driver's test? Or that blind people need not apply?

Of course there is an application process, but unless you have some information to bring to the table about who might not be approved and why, then you're just blowing smoke.

How would Israel know whether an application came from someone in Gaza or the West Bank without, you know, reviewing the application first?

If you have some evidence that all applications are only from Israeli Arabs, and not from outside Israel, please feel free to present it. At this point, you are making an argument from incredulity.

Sorta funny premise for a thread.

Had a good friend who lived in Italy. His opinion on modern architecture ...

"Anything less than two hundred years old is new construction."

From that perspective, in Israel the other day a trailer park was demolished for a new building project.

they wouldn't...thats why there is an application process and thats why anyones claim that some people have an automatic right to israeli citizenship is bogus.

dude...whats the point of the wall and checkpoints? remember those....you like those because they keep the arabs out....who wanders up to the government office in Israel and applies for citizenship.....hint: people who have access to the office. Another hint would be that there are only certain people who are entitled to apply.......people with permanent residency being one of them and people who are some random arab from gaza not being one of them.

can I just confirm one thing: do you still believe that if you are an arab permanent resident of Jerusamem that you need only ask and citizenship will be given to you? no evaluation of your circumstances or decision by the israeli government...it just automatic.....do you really want to align with that silly claim of mycrofts?

It may well be the case that some with permanent resident status are not accepted, but you haven't provided any evidence of that other than your own incredulity.

Are you suggesting the checkpoints and the wall is to keep Permanent Residents of Israel out of Israel? I think you may be losing it here...

you like those because they keep the arabs out....
A lie. I would suggest you retract it.

So your new angle at this is that only in-person applications are accepted? Bet you don't have any evidence for this claim either.

I never made that claim. You might want to go back and read the thread again, as you seem to be getting confused.

I think it's beyond surreal that you honestly seem to feel my claim is rebutted because the person would have to fill out a form to claim citizenship. I mean really, you must be joking.

no, cause its the right thing to do.

conquering land in a defensive war, and then kicking out residents, is disgusting.
Apply to Jordan and the Arab League between 1948-67 and see the hypocrisy, albeit, Jordan and others took the avenue of a failed offensive war.

E. J'lem has existed only since post-1860/70 after the Ottomans permited building on that side of the city walls. So no 'native population' to speak of. SSDD here too.

well...the claim is actually Mycrofts. He simply stated that "Arab citizens of Jerusalem who have permanent residency status have a standing offer for Israeli citizenship they can accept at any time." I was asking you if you wanted to join that claim. Its bogus of course. The people are permanent residents, under Israeli law permanent residents can apply and be accepted or rejected......not "a standing offer for citizenship".

Are you suggesting the checkpoints and the wall is to keep Permanent Residents of Israel out of Israel? I think you may be losing it here...
no, I'm suggesting it keeps Palestinians out who are residents of the west bank.

A lie. I would suggest you retract it.
sorry, I have only ever seen you rationalizing or defending it. If, in fact, you don't support the wall i do retract the statement and apologize

So your new angle at this is that only in-person applications are accepted? Bet you don't have any evidence for this claim either.
no...you are correct. Possibly Israel does deliver packages from Gaza to government departments :)
edit to add...I just found this..

http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=20725
Montreal, August 20, 2010 - The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) is encouraging Canadians to send mail to Gaza aboard a Canadian boat to be sent there in the fall under the humanitarian Canada Boat to Gaza project. The Israeli government is currently preventing other countries' postal services and the Palestinian Postal Service from dealing with each other directly. It announced on July 20 that it would not allow international postal service to Gaza. Gazans have been without international mail since then. So far, Canada Post has failed to find an alternative route to deliver Canadian mail to Gaza, which is surrounded by a 40-foot iron wall with only three entry points, two controlled by Israel and a third by Egypt.

I never made that claim. You might want to go back and read the thread again, as you seem to be getting confused.

sorry, I wasn't saying you were....I was asking if you were aligning with mycrofts claim...if not, then you have answered my question. No doubt mycroft is madly "clarifying" his claim that arab permanent residents of Jerusalem have an automatic citizenship offer they can just take up....

I really don't see there is anything to clarify. If you want to make yourself look like an idiot with this, be my guest.
