But then again after hearing what Michelle Bachman said in some recorded speech, she is on par.

From another BBC article about this candidate:

The mother-of-two rose to prominence when she was arrested for going into a supermarket and putting stickers saying "halal food funds terrorism" on Nestle products.

She was charged with "contaminating or interfering with goods".

If I were Australian, I wouldn't vote for her. That's all I can say.

Edit: After a closer look at the article, I see that she was a candidate for the One Nation party, so maybe I shouldn't have been so shocked by her comments.

She's a carbon copy of the most severe morons in this country, and we may have more of them than we should, but Stephanie Banister lasted all of two unelected, unsolicited days in politics. Palin was the Governor of Alaska and Bachmann is a member in the US House of Representatives. Mind you, I think Banister's stupider than both of them anyway.

This is probably even worse than Palin, or even Bachmann. I think this approaches Christine O'Donnell ("mice with fully functioning human brains") levels of cluelessness. At least Ms Banister has the good sense to quit when she realized she was out of her depth.
