Is This David Brock Guy Literally Insane?

The point being, there's a lot of crazy people out there. If you're a high-profile and polarizing figure who tends to get death threats, it may be prudent to consider the possibility that one of them might be more than "just talk."

Key "high profile". In this case such a knowlegable person as tyr 13 hasn't even heard of Brock

I'm willing to go out on a limb and suggest that tyr 13 rarely listens to right-wing talk radio (Limbaugh, Boortz, etc) or watches Fox News. When they talk about MMfA, they mention him, and not in particularly glowing terms. (You can usually bet that the name "Soros" will soon appear. Seems to be part of the standard diatribe.)

It doesn't take much for fringe wackos to send in death threats. Ben's gotten them, I've gotten them, and we sure as hell don't have several million people listening to diatribes against us.

My basic point is this - none of us are in any position to judge what sort of security needs someone like Brock or Moore might have. We're not privy to that sort of information. I don't see any basis for judgement calls.

Actually, I do watch FOX News because everyone in the house does. I've heard the Soros whining, and I've even heard them attack Media Matters (hilariously once repeating the exact point they say Media Matters made up them saying), but I don't recall a mention of Brock. Perhaps they did and I forgot.

I'm also not especially knowledgeable. Remember, I watch FOX News.

I can't google the TV, but he's mentioned often on their website.

:D

So I guess the consensus is, no, David Brock is not literally insane. Eagerly await the next content/context devoid drive-by.

Apparently Brock is hard into the coke and other illicit substances.

I've heard you like to dress up like Herman Goering on Saturdays and one of the Knights Templar on Sundays at the White Western Culture Camp Lodge. And there are pictures somewhere but they are totally NSFW.

That is actionable libel unless you can prove this.

I'm not saying any of it is true. I am just saying, "I heard..."

Not unless it does actual harm, and good luck trying to argue that.

I think in the UK all that needs to be shown is that a statement which could harm someone's reputation has been made.

Are you literally insane?

Really!??!?!?? Were they going to stalk them like Bill's producers do, or tap their phones like the rest of Murdoch's minions, or is your outrage totally selective?

The righties sound like a bully who just got a baseball bat up the side of the head after attacking a nerd on the playground.

How dare those lefties defend themselves against Fox Boobs' operatives?

If you're afraid of snipers why would you be smoking on the roof?

And?

Investigating people is part of any watchdog group's remit.

Don't you run a lefty radio show or something? Do you have a connection to Media Matters? You're getting pretty defensive.

If you're afraid of snipers why would you be smoking on the roof?

If you're afraid of death or bodily harm, why would you be smoking at all?

I've never heard of the man but clearly he's as mad as two hatters, each with a case of Double Madness Disorder.
