Is this Anti-Muslim propaganda?

... Their point isn't that all Muslims are really extremists and just pretend to be moderate, but that *some* (radical) Muslims are like that -- which is true.

It does pretty much plant the notion that evil may lurk within the heart of any moderate-seeming Muslim though. It's like gun enthusiasts cautioning that Obama is lulling NRA members to sleep with his apparent unconcern for gun control and is really waiting for his chance to take away guns. The lack of any evidence becomes evidence itself.

What is called in the film the "second Jihad," i.e. the expansion of the Ottoman Empire into Europe, was more the political expansion of an empire, rather than a jihad. Also, Hamas and Hezbollah, though using terrorist tactics, are essentially doing this in reaction to Israeli tactics and policies. In all probability, a two-state solution would probably diffuse a most of the terrorist inclinations of such movements.

That said, the film had some valid points. In the case of honor killings, the harshest penalties should be carried out against the perpetrators. Any mosque or Islamic organization in the United States advocating the overthrow of western democracy or our government should be regarded as treasonous and legally treated as such. No nation, government or even newspaper should have to apologize to any religion for exercising freedom of speech. If what someone says can be proven untrue, then present the truth.

I suspect, despite the assertions of Islamists, that Muslims in Europe will eventually be westernized and that their birth rate will taper off. Also, one big weapon we have that they cannot counter is the Internet.

So, I see this video as a mixed bag.

Radical DC fans dream and blog of the day when they might roam the streets of America in their cosplay beating down ever Marvel fan too XD

Star Wars fans, with their light sabers, Star Trek fan

GREAT contribution to the thread!

Walk a mile in my moccasins. From experience I know that this is a touchy subject and people are too quick to misread what you say.

WHat I would like to say is that I don't think there really is much anti-muslim propaganda whilst there is a lot of anti-islam propaganda and I do not think the two are the same thing.

In that light, I do not think the OP link shows anti-muslim propaganda at all.

Substitute Christian for Muslim and it is still true. Radical Christians dream and pray of the day when they might roam the streets of America with sticks, beating down immodestly-dressed women everyone who isn't a christian.

ftfy fundamentalists are fundamentalists, whatever their flavour :D :(

That is like saying all ice cream is bad. But some we can live with whilst some need to be pulled off the market.

Not really, because he specified fundamentalists.

It's like saying all poo flavoured icecream is bad. Unless you can point me towards fundamentalists who do no harm through typical reality denial?

It is more like saying "all poison is poison", but some poison is contained, and some isn't. But all poison, if released, will kill.

It's like saying "all analogies are analogies" but some analogies are apocryphal and some aren't. And if you... wait, I lost my train of thought...

As to the Islamic threat, it seems to me that we certainly do not have to bend over backwards every time a Muslim minority gets upset with how other people see them. I suspect that Europe feels the pinch of petrol far more acutely than we do, which might explain some of their coddling of Islamists.

I would also say that we do have to watch developments in the Islamic world with respect to nuclear weapons. This threat is indeed worsened by the fact that Islam is probably now where Christianity was during the 1600s, the time of religious wars, culminating in the carnage of the Thirty Years War. We should also publicize Islamic intolerance of Christians and pagans, as in Southern Sudan and Egypt.

On the other hand, it would help if we were to pressure Israel to accept a two state solution. It would also help if we would pull out of Afghanistan and generally eschew foreign policies that get us ensnared in the regional politics of the Near East. It would seem to me that the only way to do this in the long run is to find alternatives to oil.

Still, you cannot ignore the fact that it's an actual, and openly declared, strategy of extremist Muslims to pretend to be moderate. If this makes one suspect innocents, whose fault is that? Surely that of those who openly declare they will use such a strategy.

What's more, this is a video aimed at people -- cops -- whose job it is to be suspicious and thus, if possible, prevent crimes before they happen. Such "know what to look for" training is necessarily going to make many cops suspect many innocent people.

really? i don't think so, i think it was only later used for that purpose, and there it is far to general to be of much use. they would have gone far more into details about different islamic groups and clerics etc etc.

Glad some folk are bright enough to get my drift .... but I'll pass on the poo flavoured ice cream if you don't mind! :jaw-dropp

One way to measure the Muslim threat to free speech, western ideals, etc. might be to look at the situation in many of the Balkan countries, which often have large Muslim populations as a legacy of the Ottoman Empire. Do Muslims there attack Christians' freedom of religion, women's rights, etc.?

Is that video anti-Muslim propaganda?

Let's just say that 'Thinly veiled' isn't just a strip club in Bahrain.

The idea that Islam is where Christianity was in 1600 is remarkably demeaning to Islam.

ETA: It also implies that religions under some sort of growing and maturation process.
