Is Sylvia Browne in really bad health

There is no evidence. Just hearsay, really.

One of our forum members, Francine, explained the situation with Chris back in January. She said:

ExM: To answer your question about Angelia, no way. She will not follow in her grandmother's footsteps UNLESS the same thing happens to her that happened to Christopher. That is, Sylvia allowed and encouraged Christopher to drop out of school at Grade 9 so he would be dependent on her. Then she dangled many carrots in front of him (cars, property, anything money can buy) and lured him into joining her in her line of work. He has no skills in any other capacity besides working out at the gym. Now he has to do this to support the lifestyle he's grown used to having.

Since Sylvia did this with Christopher, wouldn't it make sense that she would set out to do the same thing to Angelia, his first born? Sylvia never allowed the umbilical cord to be cut with Christopher. She is obsessive about Christopher. Sylvia makes all of that stuff up about Angelia because she WANTS TO BELIEVE IT. This is why she started writing that stuff about her from the beginning.

Having gotten to know Francine a bit, I tend to believe her. It's secondhand, though, and I suppose it can't be otherwise unless Sylvia or Chris decide to fill us in.

This is entirely besides the point but-

Are you sure you are using the right term? Münchausen syndrome is when mentally ill people highly exaggerate or invent medical conditions in order to gain sympathy or attention, especially from medical providers. And, unlike hypochondriacs, who are seriously self deluded and honestly believe that they are ill, they know full well that they are exaggerating or lying. An example would be an able bodied person who pretends to be in a wheelchair.

Münchausen by proxy is when people lie about their child's health or actually abuse their children and give them real bruises, cuts, scars, injuries, rashes, diseases, etc. in order to receive sympathy or attention, especially from medical providers. An example would be a parent who lies about having an HIV positive child.

Unless Sylvia Browne made her son drop out of school so that she could gain attention from professionals in the field of education, your statement is inaccurate.

That's just a nitpick, though.

You are right its more like munchausen by proxy. It was not for attention so much (I feel) but as he would always be dependent on her.

Good job ExMinister.

I could not have said it better than Francine. Francine is 100% correct.

Proof----Lynbrook High school in the Fremont school district in the city of Cupertino Ca. Should have entered school (Freshman year) on or about 1979 or 1980. He did attend but never came close to finishing his freshman year.

Avatar49 - you are correct. I went to Junior High (Miller Junior High) and Lynbrook High School with Chris. I thought I remembered him being there for part of his sophomore year but, never coming close to finishing it. Ironically, he was in my English class. Chris was never the student type he use to copy my Social Studies work in eight grade; it's sad. Ms. Browne use to let Chris throw some amazing parties including purchasing the kegs. Not a great parent!

Yes... we probably did see each other at those parties. They were at her Saratoga Avenue house.

That is right and it was the house right next to the catholic school/church. I did not attend a lot of those parties as Chris always had to create drama.

Anyway its nice to meet you ladyjustice. I hope you like it here and stay tuned.

Browne just posted about her health:

Inner Circle - Message from Sylvia

These past few months have been a little crazy. When I returned from Israel & Egypt, I came down with an awful cold & while trying to fight it, I also had to begin traveling again for a new round of lectures. While at home I've been writing and doing phone readings. I apologize that we haven't had a webcast in a while, but I promise we will resume our schedule in the New Year when things slow down a bit. I know you are eager to have your questions answered. Some of you will be able to find your answers in the both the Ask Sylvia column in the Nov./Dec. Newsletter as well as in the Ask Sylvia column on the homepage.

In the mean time I will be glad to answer the questions of her followers with my superior magic powers for half price!

DING DONG THE WITC.... what? Poor taste?
:boxedin:

Stop the presses! She caught a cold. And not just any old cold, but an awful one.

I could have predicted that, you know. ;)

I haven't seen anything where she's predicted her own death. I'd hope she'd try to cash in on such an event, if it was reasonally expected to occur, but could be spun into a 'prediction'.

No way. Humans are scared of their mortality. I don't even think SHE would mess with that.

Not everyone. I reasonably predict a zero percent chance I'm going to be around in 100 years. In fact, based on my family patterns, I'm very likely to die before my 60th birthday, with a good chance that it'll be from leukemia or heart failure. I'm hoping for a few more years than that, as long as they're good years. My life is somewhere around two thirds over, and I haven't done all the things I want to do yet, so I'm still busy.

I predict I'll die on January 17th, 2040, between 0300 and 0400. Cause of death is 70 percent likely be cancer, 20 percent likely to be a cardiovascular accident such as a heart attack or stroke, and ten percent likely to be something really really strange, like falling off a cliff into the mouth of a hungry lion, while on fire, destroyed in an unexpected cheese explosion, or a tragic spackle accident. If I win, I want the million dollars...

I was adopted, have zero family history!
Life to me is like a box of chocolates!!
