Is sarah Palin really this stupid?

Why would "refudiate" have to be a dumb mistake, rather than a deliberate and meaningful fusion of two words such as "misunderestimated" and "confuzzle" have been accepted as?

I don't think she did it on purpose. But it seems obvious to me what happened: she couldn't decide as she were speaking whether she wanted to say "refute" or "repudiate" (both were logical words to use) and, therefore, said something "in the middle". Doesn't seem to me to be a sign of stupidity -- it's the kind of thing that happens to all of us. Much ado about nothing.

UGH. She's got a reality TV show coming up. "Sarah Palin's Alaska". Basically her and her family enjoying the outdoors. That sound you hear is someone scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Especially the part about the guy who moved next door to her just to stalk her.

Had the same thing been done with Obama -- a reality show showing a day in the life of a president -- it would be hailed to the sky as a master stroke of PR, showing how brave and open and just-another-one-of-the-guys he is.

Yes, that was total ********.

I also get upset every time I see Levi Johnson on television.

One thing I will say in Palin's defense, she really is a Washington "outsider." She doesn't have an Ivy League education, isn't from money, and genuinely doesn't know the Beltway code. Of course, she's doing everything she can to move into that crowd, which is disturbing ("The media is useless and evil, thus, I will quit my position as state governor to join the media").

She is no dumber than Bush or Quayle or Inhofe or any of the other nut-tard boobs milling around Washington, but she isn't of the privileged class, so the media has no problem destroying her in the most trivial of ways.

The irony, of course, is that this was the model established when the Clintons took the Whitehouse. If you aren't part of the kool kids crowd, they will go after you. If you're in, they defend you.

Quite sad, and Palin's actual vapidity and mendaciousness get buried under trivial nonsense.

Somehow, I get the feeling that, if Obama had said the exactly the same thing, you would automatically assume it was intentional. While if it was Palin who mentioned "57 states", that would condemn her for all time as an idiot.

But objectively speaking, surely, if anything, collapsing two words into one (not deciding if to say "refute" or "repudiate" and saying a word in the middle) is by far less proof of "stupidity" than claiming there are 57 states, or calling someone a "corpse" man.

And you'd be wrong. If Stephen Colbert had said it, I would assume it's intentional. Besides that, plenty of people made fun of the 57 states line. I made fun of it.

But you're missing the point of what I said. Her saying this doesn't make her an idiot or stupid. But it is fun to laugh at, and that's fine. Now, she may very well be an idiot or stupid, but not just because she mistakenly jammed together two words. How do I know it was a mistake? She thought it was already in the dictionary.

Seriously. He's a douchebag. He shouldn't matter. Unless someone brings up, 'she's qualified because she's such a good mother' or 'abstinence only education works and is moral', then there is no reason to bring him up.
