Is 'Paranormal Activity' the Next 'Blair Witch Project'?

I actually just watched Cannibal Holocaust last weekend. Ugly, mean movie. Makes A Clockwork Orange look like a Disney production.

After investigating Cannibal Holocaust, I take back what I said about The Last Broadcast being the first "found footage" type movie. :)

Cannibal Holocaust left me and even my friends with the strongest of stomachs, feeling a bit woozy for a day or so...

I could also say the same about Irreversable. I don't think I can ever watch that movie again. 1 time is enough!!!

definitely not an easy movie to watch... the animal killing scenes were real, which makes it even more disturbing.
I guess teh directors of the film chose to live off of teh land the entire time they filmed it. So they killed all of their own food, or most of it. Nasty movie eh?

I wonder if the trailer would create the same effect if they replaced the creepy music with circus music.

Are you saying you don't find circus music creepy??!!? ;)

And let me add my voice to the rest of the people here who recommended Cannibal Holocaust. Great, nasty movie. I've seen far sicker and gorier, but CH is much better at creating a creepy, mean spirited feel than your average gorefest.

....
I don't understand how mature, intelligent adults, can be truly shaken by ghost stories, any more than they would live in fear of being mugged by Santa Claus ..
...

Maybe because they believe in ghosts?

Any better ?

Thats what disturbed me. I expected the gore in the same vein aas the 80's zombie films, but it wasnt like that. Can see where Blair witch idea came from.

Very much so..even seeing how they did some of the special effects didn't really detract from overall feel of the movie.
