So Sarah Palin tweeted out about the shocking socialist income initiative in Stockton, California where they are experimenting with a Universal allowance based on the system used by... gasp... Alaska!

When will this woman be done and shut up and go away, it's not even like she's been voted for as a Presidential candidate.

As soon as people stop talking about her, like right now? ;) Is this really exactly the same as the Alaska plan, because I thought that was a kickback to residents due to the oil sold. I remember hearing about it a while back but I'm not sure anymore. Maybe it is free money.

Stockton is a 20 minute drive for me. A true craphole. Last time I drove there I was afraid what would happen to me if my truck broke down. The guy who owns the store I went to had to unlock the door to let me in, mid-afternoon, then locked it behind me. Never going back.

I believe one dozen people get the 500 dollars a month. Stockton needs help, not sure what kind though. Who cares about Palin (says the guy who responded ;) )?

Still, it's only the "eighth most miserable US city" according to Wikipedia. Unfortunately, Wiki doesn't have a negative rankings paragraph for Sarah Palin.

Yes, and it is exactly like that system in every way. Funded by Stockton's no doubt plentiful oil reserves, and guaranteed to all regardless of income based on residency? Uh, no:

The blog post on AmericaNewsCentral.com criticized Stockton's plan to provide a small number of low-income residents with a $500 stipend per month.

Totally like Alaska's program.
