Cornel West on Obama is no better than a birther

“I think my dear brother Barack Obama has a certain fear of free black men,” West said. “It’s understandable. As a young brother who grows up in a white context, brilliant African father, he’s always had to fear being a white man with black skin. All he has known culturally is white. . . . When he meets an independent black brother, it is frightening.”

“Obama, coming out of Kansas influence, white, loving grandparents, coming out of Hawaii and Indonesia, when he meets these independent black folk who have a history of slavery, Jim Crow, Jane Crow and so on, he is very apprehensive,” West said. “He has a certain rootlessness, a deracination. It is understandable.”

And does any black person other than West still use the word "brother" this much?:
I was under the impression that he might bring in the voices of brother Joseph Stiglitz and brother Paul Krugman.
. . .
“I used to call my dear brother [Obama] every two weeks.
. . .
The first thing he told me was, ‘Brother West, I feel so bad. I haven’t called you back. You been calling me so much. You been giving me so much love, so much support and what have you.’ And I said, ‘I know you’re busy.’
. . .
And then as it turns out with the inauguration I couldn’t get a ticket with my mother and my brother.
. . .
My mom says, ‘That’s something that this dear brother can get a ticket and you can’t get one, honey, all the work you did for him from Iowa.’ Beginning in Iowa to Ohio. We had to watch the thing in the hotel.
. . .
“What it said to me on a personal level,” he goes on, “was that brother Barack Obama had no sense of gratitude, no sense of loyalty, no sense of even courtesy, [no] sense of decency, just to say thank you. Is this the kind of manipulative, Machiavellian orientation we ought to get used to? That was on a personal level.”
. . .

I think I've seen him on the Bill Maher show and I find his sermonizing, faux-sagacity, incomprehensibilty, didaciticity, speechificatility, prolixilifying, verbociousness and make-up-a-wordification completely irritificating.

I wonder whether Brother West might have a slightly inflated sense of his own importance.

Now, now Brother Lefty, Brother West is not pontificating and adumbrating from the altitudnous heights of the mountain from having ambulated to the mountain but because the mountain has locomoted to Brother West.

That would be a decent analogy if Brother West were a Muslim ... :D

Anyone who is friends with this guy better make sure he is ALWAYS on the guest list.

Hey. So how you think he'd fare in a jail full of brothers?

;)

My grandmother might have said "uppity," but my grandfather would have simply said he was apparently fooling himself more than anyone else.

A half white man raised by his white mother. He's as white as he is black, which makes him neither.

Brother Rotor, are you denyifying the multiplicity of potentiality that God-given existentiality has permitted all of us including Brother West from Prophetable consentified appropriation of our Muslim Brothers heritage?

Obama has made at least one history for US Presidents--that both white and black can be absolutely untrustworthy enemies of the Constitution, free speech, Government transparency, anti-warmongering, etc. His impact on our country won't be because of his skin color, it'll be because of his political party and self-aggrandizement, which is bolstering all the fascist measures of the Bush Administration and beyond in order to promote his power.

Your parody of Brother West beats mine hands down. I'm retirificating.

Hmm. Not a parody. I respect Brother Darth Rotor's opinions, which are often keen even if I disagree. Your peculiar/admirable locution and eager homophonofability leaves me baffled, admittedly, but I was actually serious in my post.

Not sure what word would best demonstrate this. Perhaps "cumuloattentuatedsylicateliberalosity"?
