Is Hunger Calorie or Volume Determined?

Have you considered swimming? Swimming laps is practically zero impact and if you do it right is very aerobic.

Thanks for the suggestion! :)

If/when my finances get better I will join a gym with a pool. I would like to take up swimming.

Another option is that I do have a beat up old bike that I can probably figure out how to get in working order as its not actually that beat up. First free weekend I have that isn't spent on job searching I plan to figure that out.

As mentioned, it's a combination of factors, including memory apparently.

Today my three meals consisted of a cup of yogurt, a banana and a cup of cole slaw. I am surprisingly not hungry. The braces and lengthy teeth cleaning really cuts down one's apetite, especially outside of meals and after the evening meal. Flossing still takes me about half an hour. I've lost about 8 pounds in 9 days.

There's a diet where you eat a tablespoon of vegetable oil an hour before you eat and works on the energy level theory.

Supposedly effective but very hard to do as it's completely gross. YMMV, never tried it.

I agree! I think I'll pass on that one. :)

Simple answer: mainly calories, though fats can create higher satiety, and simple carbs can affect blood sugar in ways that make you hungrier. Also, there are no negative-calorie foods, regular exercise dampens hunger a little, and intentional, permanent weight loss without bariatric surgery is nearly impossible because of the way our bodies work.
