Is George Galloway a 9/11 Truther?

http://911blogger.com/node/19863
George Galloway MP had a New Yorker called Tom Kiley on his Talksport radio show friday and saturday night talking about 9/11 and with particular focus on the destruction of the Twin Towers and World Trade Centre Building 7. George Galloway opens the first show explaining that he still holds Islamic extremists responsible but a recent chance meeting with Tom in New York has planted seeds of doubt in his mind. Soon into the second show George Galloway admits "it's hard to see scientifically why both of the Towers fell down in the way that they did and it's practically impossible for me to see how Building 7 could have fallen in the way it did"

He's no truther, i've heard him throw people of his radio show for being a truther, he is however, catholic.

This is a wonderful post.

Is his debate with Hitchens any good? I love Hitchens but disagree with his views on the Iraq War so never checked the debate out. I recall Hitchens describing Galloway as both a pimp and a whore in a Q&A he was in awhile back when he was doing tours and debates for god is not great.

There is no question Galloway is a rabid anti semite, not to mention an apologist for every Islamic tyranny and fascist state he can find. His particulalr hatred is focused on 'the Zionists'....I have noticed many of his more militant followers see the Jews as the cause of all the worlds problems- Is it safe to conclude that Galloway is an anti-Semite? Many of his followers are also 9/11 Truther crackpots- Galloway blames the west for bringing 9/11 and July 7 on itself due to it's foreign policies(a despicable assertion)- But does he go further to suggets that the west carried out the attacks on itself?

He has actually been the target of a tabloid sting in which his putative interviewer was trying to feed him anti-semitic lines which he declined to take and instead exposed the identity of the "fake Sheikh" who was interviewing him.

I don't think that George Galloway is an anti-semite but some of his best friends most assuredly are.

As for being a Truther, my guess is that he isn't. In fact he tends to get very impatient with a lot of conspiracy theorists.

I have seen him on his TV interview show on Iranian state TV ridiculing guests of his who continue down the conspiracy theory path or else he cuts them off if they start raising those subjects (I think he did this with Cynthia McKinney, for example).

Well, he seems to be embracing the twoof alright:
It's bad enough that Pamela Geller is planning an anti-Muslim rally to commemorate and/or desecrate 9/11 in New York City this year. (Geller is campaigning to make Lower Manhattan a First Amendment-free zone.) Now New York will also be subjected to a series of 9/11 truth conspiracy theory meetings and rallies to mark and/or mar the tragic anniversary, featuring a number of speakers associated with extreme anti-American and anti-Israel views verging on the paranoid. (Read here.) Under the aegis of a 9/11 truth group called WE ARE CHANGE, the scheduled speakers include a number of potentially offensive participants. Here's a partial list, highlighting some problematic participants:

  • Jonathan Elinoff
  • Cynthia McKinney
  • Wayne Madsen
  • Mike Gravel
  • George Galloway
  • Paul Craig Roberts
Nice companions he has there

(It is possible he is not a truther, but he is going to speak in an event where the other speakers clearly are. We will see after the event.)

Well, he's had Cynthia McKinney on his TV show before to talk about something that was pretty mainstream but I remember him getting irritated when she started going off on a tinfoil tangent.

I'm pretty sure he's not a Truther, he just hangs around with a lot of them.

Is Mike Gravel a Truther?
No idea who Jonathon Elinoff is.

The link I gave had further details on the people mentioned. If you would have read it, you would have found that Mike Gravel is not a truther, but that he participated in a Holocaust denial conference in 2003.

He isn't a truther, and has consistently said so.

However he did give Richard Gage an easy ride in an interview recently. Which proves he is easily suckered by a cheap suit.

Your link didn't actually say that Gravel wasn't a Truther but nevermind.

Do you think that Gravel is a Holocaust denier?

It was strongly implied. Here is what my link had to say:
Mike Gravel, a former U.S. Senator from Alaska and a quirky pro-peace candidate in the 2008 Democratic primaries, only made my list for one reason. In 2003, he participated in a Holocaust denial conference featuring neo-Nazi participants. (Read here.) He subsequently claimed that he didn't notice the goose-stepping going on all around him. He said that he thought that it was just a quirky pro-peace group. That seems consistent with his attendance at the truthers' conference.
Actually on second thought, it is more than an implication. If the only reason he is mentioned is his attendance in a Holocaust denial conference, it is clear that no one is accusing him for other reasons, such as being a truther.

Do you think that Gravel is a Holocaust denier?

Either that, or a complete moron.

Well then, either Galloway is a complete moron or he's a Truther, which means he's both. It doesn't really matter which.
