I haven't watched Al-Jazeera all that much, but the little I've seen, I didn't catch any anti-American slant.

But looking around, I see some opinions that they are, and others that just because they are not pro-American, does not equal being anti-American.

Any thoughts there?

Should probably be considered that Al-Jazeera english and Al-Jazeera have different editorial slants.

Al-Jazeera ah independent minded. They certianly report stuff in a way that is detrimental to the interests of the united states and it is safe to assume that a significant number of their staff are anti-American. If they have a consistent enough world view to be classified as anti-American is open to question.

No. To some, I suspect, the lack of a pro-American bias inherently means an anti-American bias.

As geni said, I too have red about how AJ-English and AJ-Arabic are two entirely different TV stations from this perspective a while ago. I can't verify it myself. It certainly seems possible, as their target audiences are different.

It is no more anti-american than Fox News. Speaking the truth is not anti-anything.

They have an angle and a substantial audience. Think pop culture stuff as a concatenation of MSNBC and the Daily Mail.

I found the article of interest. And for those interested there is a massive website to peruse.

Anti-, Pro-, or Ambivalent-USA; you read, you decide. I found the linked article Ambivalent.

If you accept the Shrub's pre-Iraq dictum, "You are either with us or against us, they are anti-American.

If you live in the world of rational people, they are just strongly pro-Arab. Live with it.
