skeptical: in forum-speak, when you quote or link to something, and follow it with the word "this", it's generally short-hand for "I agree with this", or words to that effect.

You may also have been confused by the three up-arrows (^) preceding the word "this". Those are short-hand for "I am responding to a post X above my own", where X is the number of arrows. Adman's post was #38, three below your post #35, so his post basically meant, "I agree with this text I am quoting as a response to your post three previous to my own."

Welcome to the forums. I'm glad you're taking a rational approach to this in the face of your family's credulity. Hope it works out well. Homeopathy is dangerous nonsense.

All science is science. Some people's versions of it have stricter guidelines and rules to follow to get a more conclusive result though. I often find it interesting that homeopaths claim that "western" science is biased as they throw stones from their glass house.
