Moderated Iron sun with Aether batteries...

You guys spend an inordinate amount of time and effort bashing individuals and ignoring the data you wish to ignore while handing out "math chores" of your personal choice. It's more than a little frustrating that you ignore the images and the data on the website and fixate on a single issue that *YOU* claim is important.

Actually nobody has ignored the images. We have determined that you do not possess the qualifications you claim and that you do not understand them. We have analyzed them, right down to the very last pixel, something which you have not only failed to do, but have steadfastly refused to even attempt. But most importantly, we have determined that they do not in any way support the crackpot conjecture of a solid surfaced Sun.

You, Michael, on the other hand, other than insisting you see a bunny and getting all pissed off at everyone else for not sharing your delusion, have ignored the images.

I'm not suggesting that the corona is special. It's just one layer of the atmosphere that the loops pass through. Of course we observe emissions along the loop, and into the corona. We also observe the loop under the photosphere as well.

Actually we don't see loops under the photosphere because by definition, the photosphere is opaque. Now it may be true that you see things under the photosphere. The word for seeing things that aren't really there is "hallucination". There are several generally well accepted causes for hallucinations. Environmental toxins and mental illness are a couple of the most commonly known.

You know tusenfem....

I'm tickled pink to see you actually reading through Birkeland's work. You're ok. We might never agree on this topic, but at least I see you're studying the right work. That makes me very happy. :)

Oh, based on *YOUR* claim, I'm supposed to jump now?

Exactly what evidence do you have that the photosphere is "opaque" to every single wavelength under the sun?

Now if only YOU would crack open an introductory physics textbook. But I guess not only are all the astrophysicists in a giant conspiracy against Birkeland and Alfven, the general textbook writers want to suppress the truth about gravity and thermodynamics too.

BS. You know, the stuff you've become absolutely famous for.

We have analyzed them, right down to the very last pixel,

More BS. You have never bothered to even explain that "flying stuff"? Flying stuff? What flying stuff? Give it a rest. You have no credibility whatsoever. Even the fact you think you've "explained" every pixel is absurd. The fact you think you "explained" anything is absurd. About the only thing you seem to have right now is the light source and I had to tell you what it was 5 years ago.

Tell me about "Flying stuff" now.

I do find it interesting that you're still trying peddle what Alfven called "pseudoscience" his entire life. If that's not a "conspiracy" to kludge his work, I don't know what else to call it.

No, I see coronal loops coming up through the photosphere and lighting up the surface of the photosphere in the process:

Keep denying the images all day long if you like but they won't go away and neither will I.

How can you tell from a 2 dimensional picture that you're seeing something go through the photosphere, rather than across the top of it?

Read the article and notice what happens to all the sound waves at approximately .997-.995R. Why does that happen?
What happens at .995R? Well according to the article the plasma flow changes from a generally vertical to a generally horizontal direction.
And why would it do that?
The vertical flow is caused by convection. When it gets to the surface, it can't flow vertically anymore, and it spreads horizontally, cools, and sinks again.
Sure, and we see evidence of that process in sunspot activity with material flowing up and back into the photosphere. How does that explain the RD image or the Doppler image, or the heliosiesmology data?

Since you seem to have forgotten what lead to my answer, I quoted it all. Understand yet? The change at 0.995R is not evidence of a solid surface, it's an expected part of the standard model that has been confirmed by helioseismology.

So you're saying that even though I'm wrong, I'm vastly more capable of presenting my position in a convincing way? That would explain why pretty much everyone accepts my explanation and pretty close to nobody accepts yours. Oh if only you had my communication skills you'd have that Nobel Prize by now!

:dl:

Now whenever you'd like some help with that deficiency you have in understanding those running difference images, you let me know, okay? I'm somewhat the expert in that area myself.

I think I'll start my own list like RC and do one for each one of you on each of the various images. It would be a tedious pain the the neck but it would be funny after awhile watching each and every one of you running away from the questions starting with:

It is mere coincidence that the coronal loops are coming up right though the penumbral filaments of that Hinode image. :)

FYI, you don't have any "communication skills" whatsoever and I wouldn't "want them" if I you did. Yech. "Conversations" with you just feel plain icky. I feel like a need a bath or I need to wash my hands after talking with you.

Your method of "communication" is evidently A)lie B)act like a overbearing jerk, and C) hide behind anonymity like a coward.

So, do you believe the white areas in that image are reflected light from the coronal loop, or is there some other mechanism related to the loop that's making the white areas glow?

The latter is true IMO. The coronal loops are ordinary current carrying filaments like you might find inside an ordinary plasma ball albeit on massive (lightning like) scales. The "current flow" lights up the photosphere as it passes through the photosphere. The effect is most dramatic in Hinode images IMO, but even that white light image shows the effect in an image that needs no special processing and a wavelength we all understand and use everyday of our lives.

Whose face it is in that famous picture of the face on the surface of Mars?

A discharge through the plasma is going to light up the plasma, and that's what we observe in all different sorts of wavelengths, not this one image. I just like this image because it's A) white light and B) shows the same effect that observable in various wavelengths. I don't see how those loop formations by themselves would reflect correctly and produce those patterns on the surface. There must be loops coming through the surface that aren't obvious in the upper atmosphere, but do have a clear pattern of influence on the surface.

Shall we fall back on Mozina science methodology here?...

Since you never produced any paper to back up that claim we can only surmise that you pulled that [idea] out of your ^ss.

What kind of a response is that exactly? Pure ignorance on a stick? I asked a simple question about the emission patterns seen in x-ray and how they correspond to the surface of the photosphere, and that's your response? You suck at science. "Flying stuff? What flying stuff?"

And another good post for applying Michael's own standards of science...
