How does Iran then need Interpol to find his address? They can just do an 'whois' and know where he lives.

If someone owns an internet domain, his address information is already in the public. That makes your claim that Iran is using Interpol to find out where he lives quite laughable.

And Interpol is not "our" institution, it's a worldwide organization of nearly all countries. And saying you should shut down Interpol, as the writer of the article you cite seems to suggest, is really throwing away the baby with the bathwater. Reread my earlier posts.

I'm saying quite literally: who the f-word cares? All the Interpol can do is notify the American authorities, who'll decide whether they want to do something about it or not. I very much doubt that the USA and Iran even have an extradition treaty.

That hasn't been stated in the thread. And google didn't help either. In any case, the fact that the suspect has German nationality sets a high hurdle for him being extradited.

Case in point: it's not my intention to Godwin the thread, but a couple of cases of Dutchmen have been lately in the news who gained German nationality by their voluntary service in the SS. They were sought by the Dutch justice (for crimes committed in Holland against Dutch citizens), but Germany consistently refused to extradite them.

But even if Ahmadi wasn't German, he could only be extradited under very narrow restrictions as the case of Metin Kaplan shows.
