Merged Iran Shoots Down US Drone?

That video mentions a dozen other drones shot down over Iran.

If they had shot down others, you'd think that Iran would be showing photos of the wreckage. And the U.S. would stop the missions if they were losing that many.

Iran claims they hijacked the drone via cyberwarfare (hacking).. At least that's what I just heard on Al-Jazeera English's youtube channel. Not sure if I trust Al-Jazeera or the Iranians. But that would explain how they got this drone with very little damage. They could have hijacked the controls and landed it safely, which would also explain why the U.S. didn't destroy it if there were a self destruct system or protocal (i.e. intentionally crashing it at high speeds to destroy the technology)..

Talking about "should have" implies that you are an expert in drone operations protocols and planning, probably with specific subject matter expertise in RQ-170 Sentinel operations. Is this the case? If so, can you provide your credentials, so that we know we are talking to an expert who knows what they're talking about? If not, can you provide the original source of your opinion, so that we can consider their credentials and expertise directly?

No I am not an expert on the matter.

That is one point of view. However the British lost heaps of planes over Germany in WW2 yet they continued to bomb Germany.

You really think there's a comparison between Britain fighting for its survival and the U.S. spying on Iran?

There were plenty of people giving their opinions in this thread, I don't see why you have to single out the words "should have" in that post and jump on rjh....

Let me re-read that post:

If it ran out of fuel then someone messed up. Also it should have tried to get back to a safe place or crash at high speed to avoid what has actually happened.

That sounds like a perfectly reasonable and normal opinion. The same thing has probably been said by many others.
