People talk about centrifugal force because that is what they think they experience.
There is no such thing as centrifugal force, only centripetal force.

You really cannot say that one exists and not the other. Different ways of compartmentalizing reality. Truth of the matter is that neither literally exist (as a force superimposed upon reality as it were).
