Put early man in a suit and tie and send him down a New York sidewalk, and he probably wouldn’t attract a second glance. New fossils prove the first Homo sapiens were a lot more similar to modern humans than originally thought. An international research team has finally unearthed the long-sought fossil remains of what could be the very first true Homo sapiens, dated to between 160,000 and 154,000 years ago. And because of the quality of the specimens and where they were discovered, they cast new light on several of paleontology's thorniest questions.

Interesting article. It seems to be more proof for the general thought that Neanderthals and Humans were a seperate branch in the tree, and also seems to give more proof for humans to have evolved out of that region of Africa.

It's tempting to saying smoking gun here, isn't it? The Ethiopians are thrilled with the find, by the way... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/2983300.stm

Kind of.
I saw their article concerning this new find.
So-called scientist says that it is obviously an idea of "secular scientists" or something like that.
The person also used the dead argument of "had it happened etc. world would be full of people...".

Send a modern man down a sidewalk in New York, wearing nothing but a cowboy hat, boots, Froot-of the Loom breifs and a guitar, and he probably wouldn't attract much attention either.

You could send a neanderthal man, well dressed and shaved perhaps, down there and he might not draw too much attention.
