Recently I activated the Java console on my IE 6 browser. I restarted my computer and sure enough the view pull down now has Java console listed . Trouble is it does nothing . Anybody got any idea whats going on ?
I did have an applet running and this console is supposed to give useful info: which would be helpful .

What Java VM are you using? I hate to treat you as if you were a dolt, but the Microsoft one is long since abandoned, not supported, and only updated for security reasons. It doesn't do much these days, and, truth be told, rarely did much useful.

If you have the Sun Java platform, what build do you have? Mine works fine.

Cheers,
Rat.

I don't use IE regularly, but I've got an option under Tools called "Sun Java Console" that seems to work fine. I do a fair bit of Java development, so I've got the latest SDK installed. You can get it here:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html

Can't hurt to try a reinstall.
