Ah, but (speaking as a devout atheist) who are you to assign such "human" choices to God? Being omnipotent/omniscient has to affect your decision-making skills... ;)

Just because you would, doesn't mean God would.

Granted, I am applying a human concept of what is moral and not moral (as are the others), which may not be justified. However, that knife cuts both ways. How do we know that the things attributed to God that we call good (i.e. saving a child from a disaster) are actually good, as opposed to just looking good from a human POV?

The solution to this is to assert that our things that we think are good are good, and things we see as bad must occur for a reason. IOW, you just assert that everything God does is good, by definition. Of course, that pretty much makes the question of whether God is actiing morally pretty much moot.
