Incident at Central Command

A pair of armed to the teeth individuals drove up to MacDill Air Force Base, Florida with out authorization and "military-style uniforms and gear and several 'rifle-type' weapons".

The sniffer-bot couldn't find anything that went boom, so there weren't any bombs.

This is Central Command. It runs the U.S. wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as the U.S. Special Operations Command. One gate into the facility was closed, but another remained open, the base command reported. Talk about robbing a police station!

Yeah, one would assume if they were intent on attacking the base they would have proceeded differently, so as it is... it's just weird.

Only things I can vaguely think of to explain are lost hunters or crazy militia.

An American man who claimed to be on a mission to hunt down Osama Bin Laden has been arrested in northern Pakistan, police say.

They said that Gary Brooks Faulkner, 52, was detained in the mountains of Chitral district north of Peshawar.

He had a pistol, dagger and a sword and was carrying night-vision equipment as well as Christian literature.

It might've been something as mundane as a soldier hiring a gunsmith to look over some of his equipment, and the smiths were a little over eager and decided to deliver the repaired things in person.

Alternatively, they might be local nutballs with delusions of grandeur and extremism bubbling away in their skulls.

No way to know till there's more info.
