Inauguration LIVE

He just promised to eradicate radical Islamic terrorism completely from the face of the earth. So there is something he can be judged against in four years' time. I wonder what his chances are?
Low. Those folks have shown a certain amount of resourcefulness in keeping that movement alive.
So are we Great Again yet? He's been President for almost an hour.
So far, same as an hour ago. you?

Many here continue to ignore the difference between a movement and a party. I think Trump was explicitly saying the links between him and the Republican party are tenuous and he's looking for support wherever he can find it.
I think you are reading into that, as he didn't say that explicitly ... but I think your read on that is a decent one.
As I said, it's like we're characters in the movie "On the Beach". The wealthy will have a field day and the rest of us get sodomized.
Lube or no lube?
Ack! Pence kissed Pelosi, ewwww!
They both had enough class to remember they were on TV, and thus no tongues.
His speech seemed very angry, does he know he won?
Won what? A chance to do a harder job for less money? In his world, I don' think that's a win. :p
I saw Trump get up at the Inaugural luncheon and welcome Bill and Hillary Clinton. The Trumpster said: "I am honored to have President Bill Clinton and Secretary Hillary Clinton here, really honored." When the other luncheon attendees began to clap, Trump urged them, "Stand up, please."
That's him trying to be nice and be diplomatic. I suspect he took that Dale Carnegie course (the one that teaches you how to fake sincerity) at least once.

I will offer President Trump one compliment: he displayed pith. Speech took 16 minutes. That's a bit shorter than most.

Beyond that, hot air as expected from anyone in Washington.

I thought it was cool seeing that high school band playing a few minutes ago.

I can't remember the school (a historically black school) or the mans name, the teacher or band leader, but good for him for fighting the PC Nazis
What "PC Nazis?"

and death threats getting them there.

Death threats. Putting kids in the middle. That's so wrong.
Agreed.

Oh, do you have a cite for these "death threats?"

What a horrible way to teach kids about tolerance - or anything - he's a hero for doing that. He risked a lot.
Yes, Trump and his followers might find it worthwhile to emulate that behavior.

I don't buy that. You don't spend six months calling someone a criminal that not only should be in prison but WILL BE in prison if you're elected, and then say it's a "great honor" to have them at your luncheon. If you have any decency (and I don't think he does), you don't vilify someone that way and then turn around and say how "great" they are once you're sworn in. That's taking it too far. That's sick.

Call me Old School but you still have to show your opponent some respect. That's basic decency. (A quality he obviously lacks.)

Guy was starting to speak (at the inaugural ball) and didn't realize there was another verse to the President's theme.

And he's still on about the win??????????????? Jesus Christ.

Absolutely hilarious, Tump is dancing with his wife, they're dancing to the song "I did it my way". You did it Mr President!

He may have won the election but he hasn't won over the American people. His speech is just one more proof that he doesn't want to reach out to people he instead continues to preach to the choir with the same lies and hyperbole he's used before. Instead of trying to ease the concerns of the American people, let alone the world, he's going to keep spreading fear and uncertainty.

It's incredibly important to note that, of the Americans who voted, most did not vote for Trump. Many of those that did vote for him did so reluctantly. Thus Trump's political mandate is incredibly weak. If anything he's quite likely the least popular recently elected president in recent memory. If things don't start looking up for Trump (and there's nothing that suggests it will) i wouldn't be surprised if he resigned or was impeached.

He spent a similar amount of time bashing several Republicans who now all kow tow to him and sing his praises.

The hypocrisy of politicians, never missing from the enterprise, has reached new lows in this round.

I thought he was supposed to be a straight shooter who says what he means and means what he says.. unlike all those two faced political swampians.

Watching the Rockettes I thought it was 1960 all over again.

Two acts I really liked:
Those Nickelodeon kids with the trumpets
and
Silhouette.

Did anyone else notice for his speech he had the coke sniffles again? Wonder when the drug use going to come out? I can't think of much else that explains those intermittent sniffling-gulps of air. Can anyone else?
