Inauguration LIVE

When does she get arrested? As soon as he's sworn in? :(

I saw Trump get up at the Inaugural luncheon and welcome Bill and Hillary Clinton. The Trumpster said: "I am honored to have President Bill Clinton and Secretary Hillary Clinton here, really honored." When the other luncheon attendees began to clap, Trump urged them, "Stand up, please."

After all the abuse he hurled at Hillary Clinton, on a level I have never seen before --what other presidential candidate continuously called their opponent "unbelievably corrupt," and repeatedly called for the opponent to be imprisoned ("She has to go!") -- he really has gall to stand before her and say it's an honor to have her at his luncheon.

Former Republican senator Lowell Weiker nailed it: Trump is a total dirt bag.

I thought it was cool seeing that high school band playing a few minutes ago.

I can't remember the school (a historically black school) or the mans name, the teacher or band leader, but good for him for fighting the PC nazis and death threats getting them there.

Death threats. Putting kids in the middle. That's so wrong.

What a horrible way to teach kids about tolerance - or anything - he's a hero for doing that. He risked a lot. The kids will remember that day for the rest of their lives.

Yes they will. They will remember the lying scumbag they played for forever.

And another assessment of the speech:
Trump’s inaugural declaration (which mirrored much of what he said in the campaign) is a historic milestone, but not in the way Trump believes. It’s a formula for America’s decline on the world stage and runs enormous risks of destabilizing the global economy. For the first time since World War II, an American president has made isolationism the political centerpiece of his administration.

Acknowledging that a large number of people are unmoved by Christian worship either through differing faiths or atheism? You know, inclusiveness, one country and all that.

One country, Lol

You can't get along or compromise with the left, they simply need to be defeated. They have zero power and they don't even know it.

I zoned out for a second there but wasn't something missing?

"without reservation or purpose of evasion"

I remember that always being the most difficult part of the oath to recall and repeat.

(ETA) Looks like the oath for VP and P are different.

President
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Vice-President
I, AB, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

The acting D.C. Police chief wasn't too impressed, either.

There was a hilarious picture of three trash cans on fire, surrounded by dozens of photographers taking pictures.

The news media loves a little fire in the street.

You're joking, right? His entire cabinet is the elite. HE'S the elite.

He's just a business man. You do know how to separate career politicians from a political novice who somehow got elected. You haven't a clue of the difference do you?

I love how this is all you care about. Not the country or its people, not the important issues, but winning, consequences be damned.

Did it ever occur to you I think the policies of the right are better for our country? It is hilarious I have to keep explaining these things to you.

And acting the same way that you deride them for is going to improve it?

It's childish. I think both sides suffer from it.

And you know what, win or not, this is not the campaign, this is leadership. For everyone, I'm sure I heard someone say that recently.

And his business is what, exactly, beyond selling rights to use his name? He doesn't manufacture anything, he doesn't sell anything more than "Trump Steaks" and "Trump Water," and even in New York City he's small-fry among the developers.

Did it ever occur to you I think the policies of the right are better for our country? It is hilarious I have to keep explaining these things to you.

And those policies are what, exactly? "Make America Great Again" doesn't quite translate into a legislative agenda.

You said elite, not politician. You do know what that word means, don't you?

I did, but I dismissed it based on your posts, where all you do is bash the left and praise the right, never actually proposing any solution or mentioning any specifics. Hell, you make your business to be as vague as possible and as uncivil as possible within the MA.
