Imus be an idiot . . .

Now you speak for what M.L. King would think. You, and not Jesse Jackson, who knew King personally. You.

You can criticize Jackson and Sharpton just fine without invoking the voice of a long-dead hero who's opinion on this contemporary matter you or anyone else can't possibly fathom -- because HE'S BEEN DEAD FOR 38 YEARS.

Sure I can. MLK was smart. Jesse Jackson and Sharpton aren't. Someone smart would not of caused such a big fuss over one little comment made accidentally by a shock jock with a political comedy show. Simple as that.

I listen to him every morning. His voice is synonymous with morning.

Now I see why you're so exercized over all this. If Imus is fired, then your mornings go out of existence. If the voice of that gelatenous cretin defines your mornings, you're better off waking up at noon anyway. Get a life.

Imus will be fired because of business reasons. He's such an as-shole that he's bad for business. No matter how much you want to blame Sharpton and Jackson, it's no one's fault but Imus'.

Christianity is not a race or a gender, genius. This has been explained to you, but I guess it didn't sink in.

But hell, what the hell are you talking about? Dawkins has been criticized several times for being "aggressive" in this forum, even when he isn't being aggressive. Dawkins has even been (completely unfairly) compared to Ann Coulter and the like.

I can smell your ignorance from here.

Second of all, he apologized (though I'm not sure if he was sincere on the apology). That's great. I'm glad he apologized. I have no problem with that. He didn't even lose his job. So what are you railing about here?

I don't think he should have said what he did. I'm glad he was called on it, especially when me made a pledge that he would not be racially insulting to those he worked with. I'm glad that pressure was put on him by the people he worked with.

So can we just move on already?

Only if you agree to buy Turquoise Buffalo tortilla chips and salza. The profits go to the Imus Ranch for Kids with Cancer. No baby seals were killed in the making of these organic and delicious products.

I assume you'll prove all that by linking to a dictionary definition for "smart."

It has to do with the fact that he's been fired over something as trivial as a vaguely racist comment taken totally out of context. That's it. He's a good guy who has helped many people including blacks but he's getting fired from being a SHOCK JOCK for saying something slightly offensive? beh.

He was fired? I know he was called to be fired by some individuals, but I was unaware that he was actually fired.

Neither is "nappy".
Neither is "ho".

"nappy" could apply to both whites or blacks as I've proven.

"ho" doesn't necessarily mean female prostitutes either.

Inflected Form(s): plural hos or hoes
Etymology: alteration of whore
slang : WHORE 1

2 : a male who engages in sexual acts for money

Moreover, It's irrelevant. If we accept firing someone for saying "nappy headed ho" imagine the furor if Sharpton decided to go after someone attacking Christianity. Remember Shaprton is a pastor!

Dawkins isn't American and it doesn't have the same effect in America. Imagine if Sharpton went after let's say.. Bill Maher for his insulting Christianity and Maher got fired. How would that make you feel?

I can smell your ignorance from here.

That's just your upper lip.

He was fired from MSNBC simulcast.

That's been addressed already.

So can we just move on already?

Tell that to Sharpton.

Almost. He's being fired for being controversial. Advertisers don't like controversy. Did Jackson and Sharpton inflame that controversy? Maybe. Tough luck. Imus created it. It's his baby. He can complain if other people raised it to a monster, but it's still his progeny. He made a gamble that his continued style of racial humor* would not get him into serious trouble, despite numerous warnings over the years, and he just lost that gamble. Tough noogies.

*humor - in the eye of the beholder

I've established that what he said was by no means "racist" given the context.

All that, and you still miss the point.

Christianity is not a race, nor is it a gender.

Sigh.

Dawkins isn't American and it doesn't have the same effect in America. Imagine if Sharpton went after let's say.. Bill Maher for his insulting Christianity and Maher got fired. How would that make you feel?

Who did Maher work for, did he make a pledge to not insult Christianity to his employer, did he admit he went too far?

That's just your upper lip.

Funny comeback! Haha! Oh, wait, no it's not. It's just funny 'cause it's pathetic.

He was fired from MSNBC simulcast.

Too bad. I guess they weren't willing to stick up for him.

That's been addressed already.

The same way everything else has been "addressed"? Whatever.

Tell that to Sharpton.

Okay, fine. You arrange the conversation.

I've established that what he said was by no means "racist" given the context.

No you haven't. Nor do I care if it was racist or not. I don't listen to Imus anyway. I don't care if he is fired or retained. I'm just pointing out that the cries of white victims of discrimination by blacks* over the trouble this particular idiot get himself into is just pathetic beyond comprehension.

* White victims of discrimination by blacks is a self-selected societal group of losers and thumb-suckers who blame a most amorphous and improbable concept for their feelings of inadequacy.

how about looking up this word? It's an important one.

con·text / Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[kon-tekst] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun 1. the parts of a written or spoken statement that precede or follow a specific word or passage, usually influencing its meaning or effect: You have misinterpreted my remark because you took it out of context.
2. the set of circumstances or facts that surround a particular event, situation, etc.

All that, and you still miss the point.

Imus promised not to insult races and he didn't. I've established that.

The same way everything else has been "addressed"? Whatever.

Yes, I get tired of repeating myself over and over because some people aren't smart enough to see the facts.

Okay, fine. You arrange the conversation.

I would if I could Sharpton is too much of a weasel to go against anyone criticizing him in a debate. Even during his show with Imus he kept trying to change the subject to avoid criticism and debate.
