Hello.

All of us at the Independent Investigations Group would like to apologize for the delay in posting the final report concerning Anita Ikonen's Preliminary Demonstration for the IIG's $50,000 Paranormal Challenge. We are in the process of doing a massive update/relaunch of the IIG website in order to accommodate the new IIG Affiliates and it is taking longer to complete than we anticipated.

In the meantime we have decided to post the complete text of the report (along with a few, but not all, of the images) on the IIG Blog.

You can read the report on the blog at this link:
http://iigwest.com/blog/2010/06/19/anita-ikonen-report/

Once the website is updated (which we plan to now have done by TAM8) then I will post a link to the report's official location.

Thank you.

Thanks, Derek. Better late than never, and all that. It's very interesting reading indeed.

ETA: I think that all rational people have long known that Ms. Ikonen is a complete and utter fraud viz her claims, and that she completely and utterly failed the tests conducted by IIG, but it's good to have the report for more complete reference.

Regards,
Lash

I'm so glad this report is out. Finally, everyone else (hey, Rodney!) can see Anita's worksheets. In each trial she failed to detect a kidney (or detected a missing kidney, to butcher the language) in two subjects, not just one. Somehow she "chose" just one subject. She insists she didn't guess, but what else could it have been? Those who watched the travesty live will remember how after the first trial's results were revealed, she tried to use the worksheet to claim that she really was right. She mistakenly thought her back-up guess was the target. It wasn't.

How about calculating the stats no that, Rodney? Six guesses gave her a 40% chance of picking one correct kidney location. It also gave her a 26% chance of guessing two people, which is irrelevant considering the task wasn't to pick people. This is not interesting in the least.

This also blows out of the water her theory about being "confident" in trial #2. If she was so damned confident, why did she have two people as missing a kidney? And why did a third location only have one "X" while others had 8? Hell, the other side on that same person had 5 marks.

So, not only did she fail the test, her post-test spin is resoundingly debunked.

During the tour, Anita asked to go on record with something. She wanted us to know that she “would not guess”. If she didn’t get a clear impression she would pass. Jim Underdown reminded her that a single pass would constitute a total fail so it made no sense to leave the form empty. But it was up to her. Anita confirmed that she understood the ramifications of passing but she “would not guess”.

It just keeps getting better and better. All of Anita's post test spin revolve around her having to guess the targets she was wrong about (because she was "tired"), after she explicitly told IIG staff otherwise.

Of course, we know that whatever Anita was wrong on would be what she claimed she "guessed" about, but its still amusing...
