If the world doesn't end on the 21st...

Ever read the Aesop fable in which the fox tries to reach the grapes but fails? He walks away and tells himself that the grapes were probably sour anyway.

I have heard of that fable yes. How are you applying it in this thread?

I'm saving all the "it's gonna happen!" pages. I plan to work them into one large page and feed it to the next moron that predicts TEOFTW.

What does the F stand for in your acronym?? :)

It can't end on Saturday - my birthday isn't until the Monday and I want my presents, can we do the 28th instead - that's when my direct debits for my bills go out of my account?

Really EPIX
Would you like to speculate how many peoples lives are ruined by this?

They will just scratch their collective heads, look through the "buy-bull" one more time and shout "AHHH, this is were we missed it, now we know the real date"!

Um, well....no:

The Haddad children of Middletown, Md., have a lot on their minds: school projects, SATs, weekend parties. And parents who believe the earth will begin to self-destruct on Saturday.

The three teenagers have been struggling to make sense of their shifting world, which started changing nearly two years ago when their mother, Abby Haddad Carson, left her job as a nurse to “sound the trumpet” on mission trips with her husband, Robert, handing out tracts. They stopped working on their house and saving for college.

Last weekend, the family traveled to New York, the parents dragging their reluctant children through a Manhattan street fair in a final effort to spread the word.

“My mom has told me directly that I’m not going to get into heaven,” Grace Haddad, 16, said. “At first it was really upsetting, but it’s what she honestly believes.”

It's Armageddon Day!

You know that it starts in Japan first, right? Well, maybe not first, but before all of you people. It's not all at once, but goes time-zone by time-zone, IIRC.

SO neener, neener neener! :P

In the U.S. about 2,300 go missing each day. I imagine that there will be claims that some of them have been raptured. I wonder if Mr. Camping will be among the missing (if he knows what's good for him, he will).

Please let us know as soon as the first xtians start floating off towards heaven!

Look at his followers. Would you take these people? He's probably postponed the rapture 20 730,000 times hoping for someone cool to talk to.
.
2000 years times 365 days... and counting.

Happy birthday to you....IN HELL. ;)

And people wonder what harm these beliefs cause - I feel so sorry for the children.

It made me really sad to read that story. Even sadder reading the comments because you just know those poor kids are going to be reading them as well. And they're already living with the shame of their parents being vocal loons, and now it's gone national (and very very public).

Someone in the comments said that CPS should "take those kids away!", but really, I think the kids would rather they have their 'old' parents back. I mean, if it was me, and my parents were raving religious nuts (oh wait, that actually happened to me) I wouldn't want to be taken away, i'd just want them to become normal.

What a heartbreak :(
