I predict, "JFK will sit..."

responses:

To CFL:

What can 'I' say, my writing has evolved. I still use the ' marks around words that I am attempting to emphasize.

To Linda:

I don't think it is every wrong to vote for someone who 'most closely' resembles your idealogical stance. I am well aware that Nader probably won't win, but if I just give my vote to Kerry, I will only be rewarding 'moderate' behavior by a supposedly liberal candidate.

To RandFan:

Indeed, I have spoken with previous G.W. Bush voters who claim they aren't voting at all, or are planning to vote Libertarian in order to punish this Administration for their lack of conservative values. So long as people vote their sincere political beliefs, all will work out in the end.

To Jocko:

I think Bush could very well lose Texas. With the influx of Mexican immigrants, he is not playing to his base, near enough. Texans are paying almost $2 a gallon for gas, their jobs are going to a rising Mexican population, and property taxes have risen 3 fold over what our tax cuts added up to. Bush won Texas during the last election by less than 10 percentage points. His policies have NOT won over 'more' voters, and without an up-serge in the economy, Bush is teatering on a huge upset.
Again, these people don't or wouldn't support Kerry, but claim Bush hasn't earned their vote...

To Batman Jr.:

I can feel ya, on that. However, I think Kerry has been hitting the Jesus Juice pretty hard... I mean he is hawkish on the War, wishy washy Gay Marriage, and absent in retort when it comes to abortion. He has no specific agenda when it comes to the environment, while he spouts that he wants to provide every American with the same health care packages that elected officials get. Sadly I view the Sentator as "Jesus Juice Lite".

So, lately...

...here in Texas I have ran into a lot more "I may not vote at all.", voters.

And a couple of, 'I am voting Libertarian, Green, or otherwise 3rd party candidate.', just to piss people, voters.

I am still hearing how Bush hasn't or won't 'try' to seal off the borders. I mean how can you have a safe homeland, if you have NO IDEA who is coming in or out???

I am hearing a lot of people complain about Bush's policies, and that they haven't or aren't helping them out right now. Federal tax cuts only left shortfalls in state and local budgets, that are now rising. Local property taxes have doubled in some areas, and the voters are none too happy about it. Add to that the influx of immigrant workers, and the drop in hourly pay, and you get a disgruntled electorate.

Many say bluntly, that they do not support Kerry, but that Bush just simply "hasn't earned their vote..."

I can't see how running around claiming the sky is falling every other week, is going to accomplish anything other than complaciancy.

I think Kerry will win this election, possibly by a large margin.

As is everyone else in the country, if not more than $2...

their jobs are going to a rising Mexican population,

Again, outsourcing is a national issue, not in any way specific to Texas. Just because the foreigners are local doesn't change things much. Besides, immigrants can't vote without citizenship.

and property taxes have risen 3 fold over what our tax cuts added up to.

Then the state and local legislators have a problem, not Bush. Those are not national taxes.

Collectively, Texans will support the candidate that kicks the most ass. Plus, I think your numbers are waaaay off. According to this site, Bush won by 21 points in 2000 and currently leads by 18. Your friends notwithstanding, I don't think you've got a solid fix on statewide trends there.

Oh, and I'm calling the spread at Bush by 23 electoral votes.
