Yes, I admit it. I am a gadget junky. I clause that with USEFUL gadgets. I'm not into most of the crap sold on TV.

I recently posted about my TIMEX Datalink watch.

Well, a couple of days ago, I purchased a Nissan Backpack Thermos. A friend has one and I was so impressed that I had to have it.

While it is expensive - $30. It is the ULTIMATE coffee cup.

Basically, it is a quality Nissan Thermos with a sipper lid on the end. The thing IS spill proof and it keeps coffee hot a VERY VERY long time.

Temp tests

------0hr------1hr------2hr------3hr------4hr------5hr------6hr
Hot--98.1C---90.4C--82.6C---76.8C---70.0C---66.1C--62.0C

The Thermos comes in two varieties, an 11 oz. model and the 16 oz. model.

Gotta gadget out there that you want to share?

DangerousBeliefs---Do you know they have a stove now that refrigerates until you are ready to cook?

I gotta go out and buy one of those penlike battery-op shavers that you can stick up you nose to trim nose hairs...and also ear hair. I goota have one. I'm startin to sprout in all the wrong places.

I think Galileo thermometers are neat. I own one of these. Trouble is, I like it 80, and all the balls are sunk.:(

I wonder if the guy who invented the automatic self-cleaning litter box was able to retire?

I thought the laser pointer was neat. Every once in a while I use mine as a gag device. One day a lady was walking down the street at 3 in the morning. I got up to take a leak and spotted her. I shone the laser pointer out my (dark in the house) window and zig-zagged the beam in front of her, and she stopped dead in her tracks, and just stood there in the same spot for like 5 minutes.:D

If this were a survey...I would take it that not too many people are into gadgets. Really? You'd never know THAT based on the products...the gizmos that people are buying these days. Look how fast the world is moving in which we live. I started out with vinyl record albums and individual 45's. Then it was 8-track tape. Then it quickly became cassettes. Then, the CD.

In video we had beta max which fell to the other VCR cassettes, which NOW are quickly being outdated by DVD's. You can't keep up. We want our technology, and all the gadgetry. Tv is going the same way: Black and white, color, high definition/plasma tv's. We have magazines that specialize in can't find/didn't- know- it- existed products.

Come on folks. You must either be in bed, or on vacation.:D

I've had one of the Nisan vacuum coffee mugs (bit different to yours) for about two years. Unfortunately after a couple of years their initially exceptional performance does degrade a bit - its 11:30 and I'm drinking the coffee I bought just before 9, and its tolerably lukewarm. I'm thinking of getting some of the experimental physics geeks to punch a hole and re-pump it down for me. Course I could just buy another one...
