Hurricane Isaac & New Orleans

A more comprehensive link for Gulf Hurricanes. It can get bogged down when these occur so be a bit patient.

Nice collection of stuff! A lot of the same sources I use.

The WunderMap at wunderground.com has some great toys and is one of my main tracking sources.

The Weather Channel is reporting that Isaac is stationary and maintaining Cat.1 strength. First reports of levee breech in Plaquemine Parish.

Now I live in Broadmoor, near the intersection of Fountainbleau and Napoleon. Right in the middle of the bowl. :)

Coincidentally, I considered buying a house near there a couple months before Katrina. Then while watching the live Katrina footage (from Atlanta), I saw that very house on CNN -- or at least the upper half of it, which was all that was visible above the water line. Needless to say I was glad I had passed on it. We'll have to see if that one's now yours. ;)

I also took 3 t-shirts, 2 pairs of pants, my dog, and my guitar.

Substitute keyboard for guitar, and laptop for dog, and that was my packing list too. And actually, this time wasn't too different, though I made much better preparations at home (starting with living on one of the upper floors of a very sturdy building).

Where are you riding it out?

Lafayette, in a house with three peers, two senior citizens, two small children and three dogs. Wheee!

We'll have to have a beer when you get back!

You're on! Stay safe!
