Human ability to effect machines

Slightly off topic, but i recall hearing a couple of years ago about a technology which involved some form of implant that allowed the control of a mouse pointer by electrical brain impulses. It was hoped to be useful for severely disabled people.

I haven't heard anything more recently nor have a link.

There was an actual product you could walk into Best Buy and purchase off he shelf for a while that was marketed towards fringe gamers, not disabled, but it basicall was a little sensor you stuck on your finger, which then claimed to be able to control the action in your game by reading some kind of impulses.

It was called mind drive or brainwave or something silly like that. I'll find a link. I remember playing with it at a CompUSA or similar once.

I swear to god, for a very brief time, you could find these in just about any PC store, at least the ones int he Chicago area. The last time I saw one couldn't have been more than five years ago, I'd guess.

I don't remember it working too well for me, but I'll bet you an e-bay search or similar could find one for you to check out cheaply.
