I don't see why it would make a difference. What does the Federal Government have to do with it anyway? It's a more disturbing question, especially for those of us with libertarian leanings, as to why the federal government should be concerned with such issues. Education, for example, is better left to states and localities.

I've always thought that the denial of the Holocaust is the first step towards a justification for the destruction of Israel.

I am trying to figure out where any of you take Huck's remarks as being a proponent of creationism. What he explicitly stated, to the questioner, was that he didn't know, and admits he doesn't know, about the literalist "6000 year 6 day" bit. I saw the excerpt from the debate last night on a Youtube clip. That is what he said.

That isn't the Creationist position. (Or maybe that isn't the YEC position.)

What he says he believes is that God made the whole thing. That's a bit more open ended, and even approaches a Deist position, though him being a former Baptist minister, he's not likely a Deist.

While I find it disconcerting that anyone chooses not to face the facts of evolution, I've come to the conclusion that a person's religious beliefs really don't matter in terms of their capacity to be president as long as they keep their religious beliefs out of their role as president.

If they can do that, yippie-skippie. If not, they aren't qualified, imho, to hold public office.

is a side discussion here, but yes, the concentration camps aimed at the destruction of Jews, Slavs, Gypsies, homosexuals and political protesters, they are well documented starting in Hitler's Mein Kampf, followed by The Final Solution, buildings with crematories found by the Allied forces in 1945, and by direct witnesses who saw the murders but survived and were emaciated.

No question.

Many millions died.
It started with Hitler's Mein Kampf, and looked closely, it started earlier as an inspiration to Hitler from another nut in Germany, I forgot his name.

The Jews concocted the Bible as a means to elevate themselves, in Exodus for example, from ordinary people -Canaanites- living in the Middle East and adopting Persian myths like Mithra in order to imagine a miraculous Jesus.

But the Holocaust was certainly a persecution of people (mostly Jews) by other people.

Here in U.S. there is Holocaust against native Indians and African-Americans, as recent as 1970s according to what I read.
