How to destroy the Earth

Methods include sucked into a black hole, blown up with antimatter or hit with a large blunt object (such as Mars). None of these are particularly feasible, sadly. However, 'hurled into the Sun' has a feasibility rating of 9/10. Hmmm...

These are all known scientific methods for destroying the Earth. None of that Deathstar nonsense.

Greg Bear had an interesting take on this in Forge of God.

Von Neumann machines, neutronium bombs, and paranoid advanced civilizations.
Good stuff, as was the sequel, Anvil of Stars. Interstellar war as it might actually take place between advanced civilizations.
 
Of course if you just want to destroy all humans + most of the other life forms on this humble piece of rock, there are many other ways.

True. However, in this context, the humans are just a subset. It's the humble piece of rock that is being aimed at.
