I've seen posts where people say that pedophelia is incurable and the perps are apt to commit the crime again but heres an interesting article I read in a medical magazine called "Human sexuality" some years ago. The article says that most pedophiles don't actually commit the crime. They realise their urges are wrong and they simply don't act on them in much the same way a person who is attracted to adults doesn't coerce or force a member of the opposite sex into performing sex acts against their will. Also most pedophiles who spend time in prison are usually intimated by the thought of having to go back. I've read posts that say that recidivism is nearly 100% but thats simply not true. I've also heard that since the stigma against child molesters is so severe that most of these pedophiles who resist their urges are afraid to seek treatment. In Georgia USA such people have to go on a list even if they never commit the crime. Any thoughts on this?
