How do you handle proselytizers?

Can I just say how glad I am to live in a big city in Minnesota?

If I have the time, I take them through a prepared spiel that leaves them speechless, and on at least a couple of occasions, physically shaking.

If I don't have the time I reply to everything they say with "If that's what you choose to believe, that's fine." If they ask a question, I say I'd rather not discuss religion, then repeat the catch phrase, or a variation of it. It unnerves them pretty quickly.

That would explain what I saw Saturday morning while walking the dog. I saw two men and a boy (about 8 years old walking down the street, all three wearing suits and carrying briefcases. I was pretty sure that they were Jehovah's Witnesses or other proselytizers, but I have not had any of them come to my door with a kid yet.

The last one that came to my house had his 8 year old developmentally disabled daughter with him. I told him I was Atheis, we had an interesting discussion and he came back a couple of times before giving up. He also opened with the anti-evolution tack.

They also separately sent an extremely old couple to talk to my wife when I wasn't there, presumably because I told them she was a "recovering Catholic". She's... not as patient as I am.
