How are you stimulating the economy with your rebate?

Just got my economic stimulus rebate! Yep, May 2nd, direct deposited in my account. Within minutes it was paid to my visa I had charged my TAM 6 registration to.

Here is my little thank you prayer to the powers that be....
Thank you Bush and Congress for furthering my Skeptic knowledge and allowing me to meet/socialize with other like-minded thinkers. I hope that someday you will be as inspired and enlightened to critical thinking, and science as the the majority of JREF forum members are. Amen/Awoman/Athingy

At TAM I will be stimulating my brain, as well has purchasing more books I can't find the time to read. I plan on spending money on drinks and food in Las Vegas. Plus the hotel room and the airfare, taxi from airport, tips to hotel and food staff.

Would I have gone to TAM without this stimulus, You Bettcha! But I feel better about spending the money now, plus because of the $600 I received I am arriving Wednesday instead of Friday.

So my job here is done! I pass the "stimulus stick" on to others....

We're expecting 1500 - 600 for each of us and 300 for our daughter. So we're going to put 1200 on the credit card and 300 in her savings account.

I'm going to buy a new power supply and hard drive for my computer in a couple of months when I can afford to be without it. I'm sure my wife will figure out what to do with the rest.

Savings! It will annoy GWB as well, we ran below our comfort level, so this will help.

I wanted to spend it on iPods and PS3s and other technological marvels with short names and high price tags...but instead I'll probably just pay down what I owe that nasty whore Sallie Mae. I have a depressing streak of practicality when it comes to money.

A reasonable rate of return at my local bank, where they will lend the money out in order to stimulate the local economy (of course since local = NYC, I'm not sure exactly what they're doing with it, but... eh. I'm insured).

I'm plowing it all and then some back into my house. Concrete, actually, Right now there's a 10 yard dumpster on the street in front of my house filled with the remains of my front porch and walkway on the side of my house.

So I guess Home Depot is the net beneficiary.

I wonder what the odds are that the Google Maps van will take a pic of my place sans a front porch and with a big ugly yellow dumpster to record for posterity in the Street View feature? Must finish fast!
