Hostage situation at Discovery Channel HQ

Funny how people argue he's either Left or Right, as if those are the only two possible labels, and that if he's either, then everyone else on that side of the (arbitrary) political divide can be blamed for this guy's crimes. That's American political dualism for you.
 
Saving the environment and the remaning species diversity of the planet is now your mindset. Nothing is more important than saving them. The Lions, Tigers, Giraffes, Elephants, Froggies, Turtles, Apes, Raccoons, Beetles, Ants, Sharks, Bears, and, of course, the Squirrels.

The raccoons, beetles and ants seems to doing OK despite us. Squirrels, of course, are pure evil as far as I'm concerned.

I'm going to have to go with across-the-board wacko. Why would someone want to stalk a television channel?
 
I have been following this for the afternoon. I have a few friends that work for Discovery in that building and have visited it a few times on business. I'm glad the hostages weren't hurt.

I don't appreciate all the programming, but it is still one of my favorite channels. And as has been pointed out, it does have some environmentally friendly content. You'd figure he'd have a bigger problem with other channels.

Agreed. It really doesn't matter whether her was on the left, right or in the middle.
Nor does it matter if he was a registered member of a political party.

What seems clear is he was disturbed; he terrorized a lot of people; and likely left behind some family members who are probably in pain now.

Looking at some of the threads about other countries politics..the UK in Particular...we Americans are not the only ones guilty of that.
 
Left/Right is a stupid way to try to break down politics anyway. Almost nobody on the sum of issues is entirely one or the other. And most people have positions on any given issue that are not entirely one or the other.

There are some knee-jerk Apparatchiks on either side, of course, who will hold to the party line even if they know it to be wrong.
