horrifying attack on Jussie Smollett

Today I learned the stress is on the second syllable of his last name. Up until now I had assumed it was on the first.

Not quite D-list. Also had a few songs he performed break into the Billboard US R&B top ten, with a #2 in Portugal, I think? He's not exactly a pauper.

eta: plus he eats at Subway, walks even in freezing weather, and buys criminal props from craft stores. Lots of disposable cash for scamming

Crafty Beaver is actually a hardware/home building supply center.

He doesn't deserve accurate stress attribution. To me he'll always be Smollett, like mullet, enunciated with a modest curling of the upper lip.

Smollett may not trust white people in that kind of capacity. And the payoff might need to be very high if he is perceived to be an insane anti-white racist to those crackers who are supposed to take the fall.

He doesn’t have to. His people make those arrangements and do the little things like, you know, not leaving a ******* huge electronic trail of evidence behind, convince him to drop the letter and MAGA angle because it’s ******* stupid, the little things.

All he has to do is show up to the beating, hit the news cycle and watch the book, movie and recording deals rush in.

How emotionally broken do you have to be to do something like this? It's just so sad.

The only positive is that I can now smugly dismiss the idiots who supported this story publicly from my future Presidential consideration. This was a "modern-day lynching" in the same way that the Bowling Green massacre was a modern-day Tiananmen Square.

I predict that "Kamala Harris believed Jussie Smollett" will *not* become a meme during the Democratic Primaries. It should, but it won't.

Maybe he wasn't emotionally broken at all. Maybe just a criminal with stable emotions.

Could we say that all criminals must be emotionally broken to do what they do? And if they are emotionally broken then they are a victim of whatever caused it.

It's a fact that most criminals suffered some sort of childhood trauma. So, in a sense, yes.

"Chicago PD" is filming outside of my wife's office and she just sent me a photo of Laroyce Hawkins. The first thing I thought when I saw the photo was that he could probably kill 12 maga dudes with a tuna sandwich. He's huge.

MAGA ninjas tho?

The three may have been seen together that night in the building...

Chicago police are investigating a tip that on the night “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett reported being attacked by two masked men he was in an elevator of his apartment building with two brothers later arrested and released from custody in the probe, a department spokesman told The Associated Press Tuesday.

Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the person who lives in the building or was visiting someone there reported seeing the three together the night in question last month. Smollett said two masked men hurled racial and homophobic slurs at him, beat him and looped a rope around his neck.

Guglielmi says police haven’t confirmed the person’s account. Detectives plan to interview the person on Tuesday.

Smollett's PR firm seems pretty quiet.

"As we demonstrated in handling Harvey Weinstein, our main competitive advantage is that we know when our client is proper ******. Your best course of action, Mr. Smollett, is to STFU. Coco here will be reaching out to all your friends and allies, and urging them to do the same. The last thing you need right now is for some dumbass politician to double down on your victimhood."

It doesn't take an emotionally broken person to pull a stunt like this. Smollett largely got what he wanted. Millions of people who were unaware of this person now know his name. He got sympathy from the GloboHomo politicians who will never disavow his shenanigans or apologize for falling for it. We live in clown world so one benefits from being a clown.

Yes and one day soon crazed murderers will be off-limits in Hollywood movies because of this. The poor serial killer, we can't portray him as evil anymore! They are actually the good guys these days (Dexter, Tony Soprano...). Society will be the bad guy for creating them.

Smollett definitely has issues. Should I feel sorry for him? Everyone has problems. We really have created a society of victims.

People, even the news media are now more empowered than ever to jump to conclusions in regards to these hate-crime incidents. I wonder when that started?

To anyone:
Does what you see in the news "corroborate" what you see in your day to day lives? People say the sky is falling, I just don't see it. Most people I meet are kind. No arguments in McDonalds or coffee shops. No fights over BBQs at the park.

People are just living their lives far as I can tell. Oh there are problems here and there I'm sure, but I see no crisis in this country. It's only gotten better over the years. Turn off your TV and enjoy.

I was right about Smollett being upset about his letter receiving no attention.

How was that suppose to work anyway? Were the same people who sent that letter (lol) supposed to be the same people who attacked him? Why didn't anyone bring this up earlier? It's apparent this guy has a thing for staging ludicrous and unbelievable hate crime hoaxes.
