horrifying attack on Jussie Smollett

One is an actor, one omg the other guy could be his manager who he was on the phone with!?!?!

Although I suppose police have checked that out already. Any other 24-hour buildings open in the 60 sec zone that dumped out onto another street that police forgot to check video surveillance of?

If in this heavily videoed area, no men are seen running away, as claimed by Smollett, what other skeptical position can be taken, other than the claim of attack is false?

Prank gone wrong? One of his co-workers stages a hate crime as a joke (in very bad taste), and Smollett went along with it so he didn't have to disparage his colleague to Condo Guy. But that meant that Condo Guy took the story at face value, and quite understandably called the cops. And now Smollett is stuck between sticking to the narrative, and outing his Empire cast mate as probably the world's worst prankster.

Yeah, I think we all would have run with owning up to a bad joke before making false police reports and lying to the world.

Things are certainly about to get interesting, methinks
 
This is going to be very detrimental to a few candidates during the upcoming 2020 campaign.

Booker and Harris both reached out in support of his claim, one even called it a modern day lynching.

but how does he know they weren't of these origins? he said they were wearing gloves and masks and couldn't give a description.

Dicey as hell, if so. Smollett seems to be in good physical shape.

Still need the ninja stealth mode accounted for if it involved anyone on the street

I very much doubt it. If a colleague and his manager were involved then it's more likely to have been an slappy scratchy altercation between the three of them, resulting in Smollett's facial grazes and him feeling obliged to make up a story when he reached the house of his friend.

I speculate that the camera sees salt residue but not yet any bleach staining. When the police arrive later they see the clothing itself which has salt residue and bleach staining.

Perhaps what the camera sees as salt residue is actually the bleach working its magic?
 
If they are calling in another cast actor, we would be looking at either a personal scuffle or hoax conspiracy, I guess. And unless the David Copperfield routine can be explained, hoax is looking likely
 
I don't think the two had anything to do with the case at all.

I think a CPD report got twisted when instead of saying Jussie Smollett, they said "the Empire cast member"...

Through s meticulous investigation, #ChicahoPolice detectives have identified the persons of interest in the area of the alleged attack of the Empire cast member. These individuals are not yet suspects but were in area of concern and are being questioned. Investigation continues.

I think someone misread "Empire cast member" as being one of the two people of interest.

One thing to keep in mind is that while actors often play intelligent and reasonable characters, many of them are fundamentally stupid, unreasonable people in real life.

Lyft rides are the Ninja mode, apparently.

The police could get Lyft and Uber records for rides in the area at the time, and they could also get the area cell tower records.

These records would let them know who was in the area at the time and who was calling who in the area at the time.

They would not need Smollett's permission for these records, as they are investigating a crime report.

If people got rides to and from, and were coordinating via cell phone, then the police will find out. It's just a matter of looking through the records.
