He has none, I think, save a scratch on the face and possibly the neck.

In this account, the rope is tied as a noose when he enters the building, but is untied, and draped around his neck, when police arrive.

Guglielmi said footage from the apartment building is sharp and shows Smollett walking in with a white rope around his neck. “We can confirm that, yeah, it was a rope, tied as a noose. It was tied that way,’’ he said. “You can tell it’s a rope tied as a noose.’’

Forty minutes later, as officers responded with their body cameras turned on, Smollett still had the rope around his neck, but it was untied.

“It was draped around his neck still, but it’s not fashioned as a noose,” Guglielmi said. “It was loosely dangling rope.” Officers took the rope and some of Smollett’s clothing as evidence.

So he untied the rope, but left it draped around his neck, apparently.

Or possibly put it back around his neck when the police were called?

At any rate, the rope seems compromised as evidence.

It's usually not necessary to untie a noose to remove it.

It is, which is why my suggestion doesn't include that scenario. Also, we still don't have evidence that he has a broken rib.

Further, this fantasy world you've invented, with disappearing nooses and imaginary scooters, is something you would be exploding over if this was some conservative religious white guy who'd been beaten up by a couple of blacks. There has never been a better example on this forum than this thread of the sickness that pervades some parts of your society.......and that holds even if it turns out that the original story was flawed. Or, possibly, reports on the rope are unclear, and you're making a mountain out of a molehill.

If what CPD says about the rope is true, then the only evidence of a noose will be the brief time Smollett is on video entering the apartment building.

I think knots are often good clues about who tied them? Or is that just in Hollywood?

I don't entirely agree with the second part. If it happened then it's an attack all right, but as attacks go it's not at the 'horrifying' end of the scale. I could list a dozen attacks that fit that description from today's news alone.

You people without a shred of evidence have assumed that it is impossible he could be telling the truth, and in flapping about in a critical-thinking void, in some sort of fantasists' feeding frenzy, you are painting a really ugly picture of your corner of American society. Really, really ugly.

It is not impossible he could be telling the truth, it is just very, very, very unlikely.

/By the way, these hysterical rants about "critical thinking void" and "fantasists' feeding frenzy" are not only hypocritical as hell they are really getting boring
