Understood. And there are many cases of US politicians who were vehemently homophobic, and later discovered to be homosexuals.

I try to stay away from haters of all sorts-- but in the case of some of my gay friends who have been rejected by family members, the family members did not appear to be repressed homosexuals--they were bible thumpers with a very selective reading of 'their book'.

If they wanted to "make love" (because gays=anal sex, you know) there are plenty of outlets that don't involve brutal attacks.

Calling it repressed homosexuality, to me, sounds like the kind of thing people want to convince themselves of to give themselves a sense of superiority. Or as a means of lashing out at the perps. "Oh ya? Well you guys are just HOMOS too! How you like that ?".

And, although I do not have a sufficient knowledge base to state this as an absolute, and AM NOT pointing it out as part of my obvious anti republicker views, it does match the behavior demonstrated by some well known republickers and their fellow travelers. None of that precludes pure evil and frankly I don't care why they did it (or mostly why anyone does foul things) I just want to see them properly, thoroughly and painfully punished for what they did. Same for any like them.
