Home from Alaska!

Best money I ever spent. Had a blast you heathens you. Seriously fond memories all of them.

Alaska stuff.

A few weeks ago I got a mailing from USAA Insurance which also has a travel bureau or whatever and 6 pages into the EXPLORE Cruise Travel brochure was an article on Alaska cruises. It mentioned the Inside Passage, Juneau, Ketchikan and Hubbard Glacier.

Also on Sunday there was a mini-marathon of Jeff Corwin's shows from Alaska and it was wonderful to see the trees and the misty fog and the Bald Eagles.

Thank you Jeff, Joe and Randi for chosing Alaska as our destination for TAA2. I'd always wanted to take an Alaska cruise and while I didn't enjoy every single experience I'd imagined (should have sat on the deck with a blanket on a chaise lounge while approching Hubbard) it was an awesome, wonderful and life fulfilling experience.

and thanks to US for making my trip really wonderful also! It's the zip line I"m talking about, not the tequila.

US did more than make my trip wonderful, although he did help with that too. He made my trip possible, and I will love him forever for that.

Oh please. Despite a confoundingly pervasive meme on JREF right now I originated spending money on Skepchicks for Amaz!ng functions just so you gals would be there.

And some of the most worthwhile spent dollars were on you two. :)

Can you believe it, I am still feeling the motion of the boat?

Not nearly as bad as before but still a sway when I am walking. And when I am sitting still I feel like I am leaning forward but fighting against it.

This is the weirdest thing. How many weeks has it been....

Susan
I can definitely believe it. It's been almost another month since your post and I'm still feeling it at different levels. Exercise seems to help. I thought it was gone completely a few days ago, but alas, no. Maybe in another couple of weeks.

You still feel it? It took about 4 weeks for it to completely go away. While those 4 weeks were happening I told myself that I should re-think ever doing a cruise again. But I guess its just like having babies, while your in pain you say "I'll never do that again." But then when the pain is gone, you forget how awful it was. Guess that's why the human race survives.
