Bingo! And fail again, Saggy. All three stories are true. The soap, the shrunken heads and the lampshade are all the brainchild of the sadistic mind of Ilse Koch, wife of the Buchenwald commander, and even too cruel for the Nazis' taste. You can see all three in the movie in the OP. There is testimony for all three. The physical evidence for the soap and the shrunken heads still exists, the lampshade has disappeared.

Besides Ilse Koch, no-one else had shrunken heads or lampshades made from Jews. In concentration camp Stutthof near Danzig, the Nazis experimented with making soap, but that never came into the production phase.

Just read about Andersonville/Camp SUmter. Turns out the commander of Camp Sumter, Henry Wirz, was the only Confederate official to be tried and convicted of war crimes resulting from the Civil War. Interesting, eh?

There is a laundry list of diseases that overwhelmed the camp, the cause of the emaciation I would guess to be dysentery, but no doubt other causes could have come into play.

So why were these prisoners subjected to such conditions that would allow epidemics like typhus and dysentery run rampant and kill tens of thousands, when nearby civilian populations were spared that fate?

To humiliate them by making them into free labor for a little while before they drop dead? To treat them as less-than-human for a little while before they drop dead? The "final solution" really came late in things and after the war had started to go very badly. Various Nazis really didn't know the complete extent of what was going on, including some very high level commanders who were involved in the implementation of the very means used to exterminate the Jews and other undesirables.

Then, there were the rationalizations. The concentration camps and the ghettos for Jews were initially justified on the somewhat realistic grounds that Jews were more likely to be partisans and resistance fighters. In some places at least, the mass exterminations were only begun after food rationing was imposed on the populace. After all, why should decent folk go hungry while Jews continued to eat?

Understanding the progression of the Holocaust, and the relationship to total war and the atmosphere created by those conditions doesn't diminish the evil committed by the Nazis, and doesn't make the deniers any less ridiculous, but it helps to understand how such a thing could happen, and how it could happen again.

1) Did the Nazis commit regularly atrocities at Buchenwald, Dachau, etc.?
2) Did the Nazis have as aim that ultimately all inmates would die of starvation, disease, or brutality?

Apparently there were labor camps and concentration camps and then extermination camps. It appears you would have to address the extermination camps if you want to talk about the Holocaust.

Buchenwald was not an extermination camp. It would show atrocities by Nazis, but it doesn't add to the Holocaust narrative. The British also had concentration camps:
