What about infectious DNA? That can be made to a high purity and used to re-infect fresh cultures or does the DNA rather than the virus not count?
They don't like the concept of infectious molecular clones either. God knows why not.
Intriguingly, none other than Duesberg himself tried to claim this prize. It was at that stage called the "Continuum award" and was offered by Alex Russell through the vehicle of the denialist magazine, Continuum. (The magazine folded after all its denialist editorial staff including the aforementioned Huw Christie died of AIDS).blutoski said:Last I checked, there are two more challenges:
1. The Huw Christie Memorial Prize: Pound(UK)100,000 Reward for 'HIV', Offered by Alexander Russell 13th June 2002. http://www.altheal.org/isolation/prize.htm (may no longer be valid - the contact information provided in the news release does not respond to inquiries, and the website is gone)
Although Duesberg disputes HIV causes AIDS, he realised that HIV does exist, and argued that it had been isolated. In response, Alex Russell et al just keep moving the goalposts regarding what they call isolation, and ensure the prize can never be won.
