Hillary Clinton is Done

I think you might find that many "Hillary haters" would be pleased to have a chance to vote for Elizabeth Warren or Kirsten Gillibrand.
“Hillary Clinton will be our first woman president. I think she will run in 2016. I think she will win in 2016. I will help her. I will campaign for her.” - Kirsten Gillibrand

You don't have to "hate" Hillary to recognize her flaws, not least of which is the prospect of Bill's return to the White House in an undefined but doubtless influential role.
So you hate Bill Clinton too? Why?

All spouses come to the White House with undefined but doubtless influential roles. Edith Wilson basically was the President. Abigail Adams was John's closest adviser. Eleanor Roosevelt was exceedingly active in civil rights.

Clinton has already outlined that she believes she'll be relying on the former President in the same way he's being used now - as a special envoy and ambassador at large when the government needs him.

No other spouse entered the White House as a two-term former President who was impeached (but not convicted, I know). Bill carries a lot of baggage from his history, both public and private, and he has spent the last 16 years hustling foreign governments for contributions to his foundation. I certainly think Bill was a better president than either Bush, but that doesn't mean it serves us to for him to have any role in government, official or otherwise.

will he have a security clearance like Hillary did not when she was reviewing top secret documents?

By the way, if that is Bill's role, what ever is Hillary gonna do with Sid Blumenthal?

Is there a candidate's spouse of whom you do approve?

Talk about being done:

“I was very flattered when Henry Kissinger said I ran the State Department better than anybody had run it in a long time."

I guess he thought that the Libya bombings were as nifty as bombing Cambodia or something.

Flattered by something Kissinger said. I guess she was born just a bit too late to get words of praise by other worthies like Mussolini.

Man, she is so far out of touch.....

So Kissinger, a previous Secretary of State who had been named as the best Sec of State in the last 50 years, complimented Clinton on her Sec of State tenure, and 16.5 thinks that means Clinton is done?

Who named Kissinger "best SecState in the last 50 years?" His cohorts? Surely not people who remember his manipulation of the Vietnam peace talks to influence the '68 and '72 elections: "Peace is at hand in Vietnam." If Kissinger thinks Clinton did a great job, does it mean they share a philosophy that many of us reject? What can Clinton point to as her successes as SecState? Libya? Syria? Iran?

Here's a defender who basically says "Well, it could have been worse."

here is what Salon had to say about Hillary bragging about Kissinger:

In debate, Hillary Clinton boasted that she is supported by Henry Kissinger, accused war criminal who oversaw policies that led to millions of deaths
Hillary Clinton has a long history of supporting former Secretary of State Henry Kissenger

Salon. I agree with *********** Salon. That might just be a sign of the Apocalypse.

And the Shillary Spin is, Old Henry ain't that bad.

Oh dear....

I knew about many of the Kissinger allegations in the Salon article, but this was a new one: He apparently talked to right-wing Germans, including ex-Nazis (if you can be an ex-Nazi), about overthrowing the moderately leftist government of West Germany. If Clinton sees Kissinger as her role model, that should be disqualifying right there.

The Daily Mail claims the Jewish Kissinger interviewed Nazis over having West Germany's government overthrown?
:sdl: Sorry, there's something just wrong about that claim.

Kissinger's record is atrocious. I heard him say something akin to 'oh well' when asked about the thousands of deaths that resulted from his US led interference in Latin America. He negotiated to keep the Vietnam War going, thwarting a treaty so that Nixon had an election advantage. People who don't know this horrible side credit him as great for setting up the Nixon normalizing China relations.

....

I note that the DM article quotes claims by a specific, named researcher, who is also cited by other outlets:

Her book apparently has not been translated to English.

It has nothing to do with this thread.

AMEN! It has nothing to do with this thread at all, in fact it is a deliberate attempt to attack the arguer and derail the actual subject.

Thank goodness no one ever falls for that nonsense.

Now lets focus on Hillary being so *********** out of touch with everything that she BRAGGED about an endorsement from Henry Kissinger.

can you imagine the number of Democrats heads that EXPLODED when they heard that!!

Not looking good fro HilLIARy!

Not only has Feel the Bern erased a HUGE lead, but now this!

A new Quinnipiac Poll shows

According to the survey's pollsters, on the Republican side, Rubio is the strongest candidate to go up against Hillary Clinton, defeating her 48 to 41 percent.

In other general election matchups:

Clinton tops Trump 46 – 41 percent;
Clinton ties Cruz 45 – 45 percent

With the Bernie...
"Democrats nationwide are 'Feeling the Bern' as Sen. Bernie Sanders closes a 31-point gap to tie Secretary Hillary Clinton," said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll. "And despite the Iowa setback, Donald Trump is way ahead of his GOP opponents. But that's not the whole story nine months before Election Day. In mano a mano, or mano a womano, face-offs with all contenders, Sanders and Rubio would be the candidates left standing,"
Among Democrats, Sanders has a greater likeability than Hillary Clinton. In the general election:

Sanders defeats Trump 49 – 39 percent;
Sanders edges Cruz 46 – 42 percent;
Sanders and Rubio are tied 43 – 43 percent.

Soon come mahn!
