Mea culpa; I haven't been following the thread.

Has any dirt managed to stick to Hillary over the difference between her public stand on sexual abuse and violence against women and her appalling record of enabling - or helping cover up* - sexual abuse of women?

A typically unresponsive response. I have made it a point to stick to actual names when debating, as I believe distorting names is childish and stupid. One need not be on the fainting couch to ask for a reasonable level of maturity.

Hmmm. telling someone to "man up" for an utterly insignificant reference shows a reasonable level of maturity? And yet not applying the same overheated rhetoric to things like "republicker" and "pubbie party."

Next time I will refer to Hilldawg as the leading Democratics Candidate. Sorry for the utterly insignificant reference, and I apologize to all the Democratics out there for using the word Democrat which is VERBOTEN!

Was the point that I typed "democrat party' and i should "man up," because typing that is "juvenile" and "stupid, ignorant, transparently bigoted or lazy" and that I should from now on type "Democratic Party" at all times because that is something that for some reason people get very emotional about?

I got that point. It would actually matter to me if the people asserting it got equally outraged about insipid comments like "republicker" and "pubbie"

As it is the only "point" that is sticking is that Democrats in the Democrat Party are sensitive as all hell.

To most people its irrelevant whether you say democratic or democrat. We know what's being referred to and usually it's not some intentional childish act as much as unintentionally conflating the two. I'm pretty sure i've done it before.

However, most of the names for republicans used on this forum are intentional and childish.

Either it's intentional and childish to use 'democrat' as the adjective, or it's bad grammar (or both).

Make an effort to correct yourself if you find yourself using bad grammar.

The word "democrat" is not verboten and you would have to be unbelievably stupid actually to think that. I simply believe that if you are going to be taken seriously as a person with points of view that are reasonable and not stupid, you ought to be capable of writing the proper name of the party to which a Democrat belongs, which is, as you perfectly well know, the "Democratic Party." It is an old and unsavory habit of persons who do not have actual substance to their arguments to use distorted names, and it is particularly a habit of conservatives to refer to the "democrat" party, I suppose because it combines intentional offensiveness with ugliness. Of course, you can go on doing so if you think it a good reflection on your character. I merely suggest that to some of us, such a usage immediately identifies you as a person who ought to be ignored. If you actually want to argue points against people who don't already agree with you, it's worth considering.

Or, as goes the motto of one of my favorite frivolous political parties (the Guns and Dope Party): If you can't achieve kindness at least attempt courtesy.
 
And, back in the real world (for certain meanings of "real") Bubba's announcing his campaign stops in NH in January. Almost simultaneously, Trump's decided to go after Hillary on the Stand By Your Man meme. On the former, I don't think Bill plays as well in NH as he does elsewhere and on the latter, I think it's a dubious strategy but both moves will make great theater.

Well, it will certainly rile up the current Republican base, beyond that, it just dredges up mud and problems that most Americans, regardless of political persuasion, would prefer remain buried in the river bed. Time will tell.
