Its about to become a non-issue.

The potential for blowback may have become apparent following his recent health-check. He really doesn't look terribly good, particularly not his colour.

He looks fine to me. I don't mean fine in a sexy kind of way, but he does look pretty healthy for a 70 year old man. Also, his color is due to his predilection for spray-on tans. I don't know why he thinks that looks good, but I also think his hair looks ridiculous, so we obviously have different ideas about style.

Clearly these style choices indicate that Trump suffers from macular degeneration and will soon be blind.

We know what you mean. ;) You don't have to hide it. This isn't the 50s. We're cool with it.

I was speaking generally. That a person's health actually is quite positively correlated with how they look to other people. Humans almost certainly evolved the capacity to gauge another human's health from just looking at him.

Also, you don't know that I have no more information than the rest of you. You don't know how much research I've done. One could probably get a reasonable idea of Hillary's forward mortality table just from the information which is undisputed (hypothyroidism and a history of blood clots) and by watching her wallow around clumsily (an indication of poor cardiovascular fitness and decreased mobility). Would I bet that Trump outlives her? Actually, probably not. But I think she probably has a much higher chance of dying in the next year than he does. It all depends on whether she really is hiding something or suffering from some, as yet, undiagnosed ailment.

Well, since health records are confidential and we only have what the campaigns have published, I know the limits of your research. So I can confidently say you have no reason NONE whatsoever to offer a medical opinion. I'm not going to suggest that Trump is unhealthy. That said, that orange color reminds me of jaundice.

Kaine brings his expertise to the ticket.

As voters have come to learn, Kaine built his career as a lawyer in Richmond by pursuing fair-housing cases. As the former mayor of Richmond and former governor of Virginia, Kaine has experience examining the issues of fair and affordable housing from a variety of policy perches. He is uniquely qualified to talk about housing—perhaps more so than any candidate in recent years.

“A house is more than just a place to sleep. It's part of the foundation on which a family can build a life,” Kaine writes in an editorial published by CNN. “Where you live determines the jobs you can find, the schools your children can attend, the air you breathe, and the opportunities you have. And when you are blocked from living where you want, it cuts to the core of who you are.”

His editorial outlines the ways that a Clinton administration would work to make housing fairer and more affordable. Here’s a closer look at those policies, and what Americans should expect if Clinton wins the office.

Unless you have physical access to either candidate or information from the future, there is no relevant research you could possibly do to have more information available to you than the rest of us.

What you probably have is "I done mah research" sites and YouTube videos that confirm your personal bias. Just like you have in the past.

If he had more info, I'm sure he'd be more than happy to post it here. He didn't, so he doesn't have any. That was just another baseless claim to draw attention away from the fact that his position is entirely ideological.

False. There's lots of info on lots of subjects that I don't post here. Sometimes I don't have the time to get into a long discussion and deal with the lazy and tedious people who respond "Evidence?" to a 300 word post.

How was that a baseless claim? It seems you don't even know what the meaning of "claim" is, let alone "baseless."

Regardless of how many words are contained in a claim, its not bad to ask for evidence, especially when virtually all claims made have been debunked, or are simply laughably false.

It's bad to ask for evidence using one word. It's lazy and asymmetric in terms of burden sharing. You could train a monkey to type that, or certainly AutoModAction. If you want evidence for a particular claim, then I think you have a duty to make a counterclaim, or at least explain why you're skeptical of the claim.

Both of those methods come up empty almost all the time. Both almost always result in either complete dismissal, and no response - or even better, a link to "evidence" that doesn't support and in most cases refutes the original claim.

The former used to get a good faith response from me, but I realized that the ratio of benefit to cost was too low for me. I've learned that somebody who is too lazy to explain why he's skeptical of a claim isn't genuinely interested in evidence. The latter will almost always get a good faith response from me. Sometimes I get busy with something else, or sometimes I miss it in a fast moving thread, but if I see it, I'll try to come back and give some evidence.

Perhaps the problem is 300-word posts containing personal opinions and statements requiring evidence, but no evidence or citations.

This is completely antithetical to critical thinking and skepticism. "Good faith" is a term that means nothing and really just another claim. You may truly believe what you're saying is true, but that doesn't mean it is true and, as a purported experienced and knowledgable critical thinker, you should be aware of that as well of suspicious of it.

A critical thinker should be skeptical of their own beliefs as well as that of others. The benefit is not only justifying your beliefs to others (which you apparently deem of low value) but also justifying your beliefs to yourself.

Skepticism only needs to be justified when it comes despite overwhelming evidence. The burden of proof is on the person making the claim, not the one questioning the claim.

Admirable but I'm not referring to you. It's a bug with the entire HDS group here and elsewhere on social media.

Yeah sure, I'll believe that. You're in a discussion on a forum dedicated to skeptical thinking and you don't post the slam-dunk evidence you have because you don't have time to deal with requests for evidence.

How was that a baseless claim?

You claimed to have evidence, and didn't support it. It was, thus, a baseless claim. That's basic English, here.

It's bad to ask for evidence using one word.

How many more words should be used to ask for evidence for a claim?
