Then delay the investigation until after the election.
It's important to the electoral process that the FBI not be seen as partisan. This close to an election? The only result this could have is adversely effecting the election.

Ever see the Paul Newman movie Absence of Malice? Comey can't say "whoops" if Hillary now loses and it's more nothing.

I was hoping for a complete wipe out of Trump but this will stop that. I've just watched a generally left wing comedy programme on UK TV basically saying "and now there's these new emails, how can we trust her?'. There's bound to be similar sentiments in the States and the stain will remain no matter that it subsequently becomes baseless.

The anti-Hillary memes have been so relentless that this will resonate far stronger than any subsequent clearance - which will likely be after the election as Comey has indicated a conclusion is not imminent.

The weird thing is that prior to today's news almost none of the campaign had focused on Hillary's email judgement. There's no built in factor to this at all especially with the anxious misfire the GOP did of running to the press before they new any details.
 
I freaking knew how they found bin Laden. So does anyone who pays attention to the news or has seen the movie Zero Dark Thirty.

Yea, the guy was sending texts or emails to a 15 year old. Man, the guy has a problem. How does someone as smart as him keep screwing the pooch? That guy had one hell of a career in front of him and now it looks like he's going to be on the sex offender registry along with Trump.
 
Some people are really freaking out over this and giving the election to Trump.At the least, it's really premature.

Yeah. There is something wrong with the guy. If he had stopped after the first time he got caught (or even been more careful), he could have come back. He was doing well in the polls for NYC mayor before he got caught again.

There is a good documentary about him caller "Weiner" if anyone is interested.
 
Hillary is an incredibly corrupt politician and whether this reopened investigation bears fruit or not, I'm glad that it may help cast a shadow over her during these crucial final days.

The establishment would've been entirely happy to bounce the presidency between people named Bush and people named Clinton indefinitely. I think it's obscene that we're even considering having two Bush presidencies and two Clinton presidencies in the space of a few decades.

Trump is deeply flawed, Trump is - in a very real sense - an idiot. Yet, as Michael Moore said, he is the human hand grenade that MUST be tossed into this festering, corrupt system.

He is a disruptor, and that is the only qualification we need right now. This system, this establishment, are in desperate need of disruption and knowing that he isn't who they want to win is enough in and of itself to justify wanting his victory.
