High School Stabbings

"A 16-year-old girl was stabbed to death on Friday by a classmate at their Connecticut high school."

"A police statement later on Friday said a 16-year-old boy was charged as a juvenile offender with her murder."

"He is accused of stabbing Sanchez near a stairwell in the school and lacerating her neck, chest and face with a knife."

Big deal! Another school knife murder.

Why does the media insist on underscoring the deadliness of these knife attacks and mass stabbings? As a Lefty, I say we should just ignore the reasons people commit such horrific and brutal crimes and continue to focus on critical issues such as why do we still allow ownership of rifles with pistol grips???:mad::mad:

The Canadian 'knife-nutters' seem to be on a roll and the body count continues to rise!

"Two women are dead and a third is in hospital after a stabbing attack in southeast Calgary."

Maybe all these stabbing murders might grab a little more attention if the media started using phrases like "knife man" or "assault style knives".

Perhaps it's time for a "Long Knife Registry"???

You may be on the cutting edge of new regulations.

Not to put a too fine of point on it but I'm just saying that we need to sharpen our focus on ways of preventing these types of murders.

Maybe nothing will come of it reference tougher and more restrictive knife control laws but at least we should be taking a stab at it provided of course that it doesn't slice too far into our basic legal rights...

You may be on the cutting edge of new regulations.

New rules might very well be in the works if the same rationale* for gun control is applied to knives...

"Staff Sgt. Doug Andrus said it seems that knives are becoming the "weapon of choice" in Calgary."

"I can tell you that knives are easily obtainable and they're not illegal unless they're concealed," he said.

"As a result it seems to be a weapon of choice when we have these deadly confrontations."

*(focus on the weapon used and not criminal behavior nor the reason for the crimes)

What's up with Canadians stabbing everyone to death? There was another one last night.

"A 33-year-old died Tuesday night after he was stabbed at a McDonalds near 55th Street and 37A Avenue in Wetaskiwin, Alta."

https://ca.news.yahoo.com/man-dies-stabbing-wetaskiwin-mcdonalds-004709590.html

Is it because knifing someone is the 'politically-correct' method of murder? Perhaps firearms manufacturers might want to dedicate some of their production capacity to knives.

In Canada, they're far more popular than guns as a murder weapon and nobody seems to be trying to ban them...

There is no practical way to do so, and Canada still has a fairly low murder rate.

Well, we could start by eliminating knives altogether from the kitchen. No common person 'needs' a knife. We already have pre-sliced bread, cheese and bologna. Why not just expand food products to include things like pureed roast beef, powdered steak and my personal favourite 'Cup-O-Pizza'.

Reference the 'fairly low murder rate', knives are used to murder far more people in Canada than guns and many types of guns are already banned. We can use the same rationale that Mr Obama uses to justify a firearms ban. It's worth it if it "saves only just one life"...

Cut to the Bone

There appears to be a manifestation of high anxiety in todays culture that seems to make people snap easily and a knife attack is a close personal way to apply aggression.

Let's apply gun-grabber logic!

Eliminate or heavily restrict access to knives, the anxiety/aggression dissipates and the criminal intent is gone. No more killin'.

Easy peasy...
